摘要： An articulating band saw apparatus provides a frame that includes a vertically extending section having upper and lower end portions. An elevator moves between the upper and lower end portions of the frame. A first hydraulic actuator is supported on the elevator for movement therewith. A first arm provides arm end portions, the first arm supported by the first hydraulic actuator. An end of the first arm supporting a second hydraulic actuator that is spaced away from the first hydraulic actuator. The second hydraulic actuator supports a second arm. An endless band type saw is mounted on the free end of the second arm generally opposite the second actuator. The band saw is movable by articulation of the first and second actuators and resulting movement of the first and second arms. In one embodiment, the band saw is a diamond wire saw.

摘要： A kit for constructing a sawhead comprises a pair of plates adapted to be stacked upon and secured to one another by bolts to form a plate stack. The kit further comprises a pair of elongate guide receivers. Each guide receiver has a longitudinal axis and an interior wall which defines a bore extending through the each guide receiver and through which bore the longitudinal axis extends. The interior wall has a cross-section which is substantially constant along the length of each guide receiver. The guide receivers are adapted to be mounted to the plate stack by bolts at respective operative positions whereat the longitudinal axes are oriented parallel to one another and whereat the guide receivers are spaced from one another in a direction transverse to the axes.

摘要： An apparatus for mounting logs for processing on a sawmill having a log bed defining a log bed plane includes a first plate, a stationary jaw, and movable jaw. The first plate is configured to be fixedly mountable on a log bed of a sawmill, and configured to support a log to be cross-cut. The stationary jaw is fixedly supported on the plate. The movable jaw is supported on the plate, and is configured to move at least in part in a direction parallel to the log bed plane when the first plate is mounted on the log bed. The movable jaw and the stationary jaw are collectively configured to fixedly clamp a log on the first plate in a clamp interior such that a grain direction of the log is normal to the log bed plane.

摘要： A portable sawmill which has an elongate central portion, at least one hinged foldable extension portion, laminated rails, detachable axle/wheel combinations, a tow bar, and adjustable legs. Spacers are received between each rail and the respective support structure for both the central portion and the extension portion, including one spacer a first portion of which is disposed between and attached to each rail and support structure of one of the central portion and the extension portion and a second portion of which is slidingly receivable between each rail and support structure of the other of the central portion and the extension portion as the extension is unfolded for use. A pull cable, when an actuation lever is engaged, effects pivotal movement of a cam to which another pull cable is attached for actuating the engine throttle for cutting wood. At least one other pull cable or other actuation member is attached to the cam to actuate at least one other device upon the actuation of the throttle.

The support assembly retains a motor relative to a drive bandwheel and a free bandwheel in a sawmill. The support assembly has a first platform orientated on a first plane, where the first platform securable to an axle of the drive bandwheel. The support assembly has a second platform orientated on a second plane, where the second platform securable to an axle of the free bandwheel. The support assembly also has a centre platform coupled to, and between, the first and second platforms, where the centre platform is orientated on a third plane that is vertically spaced apart from the first and second planes. The centre platform is configured to support the motor above the axles of the drive bandwheel and the free bandwheel.

摘要： A sawmill comprising first and second clamp members for clampingly engaging opposite sides of a log or log cant. A trolley includes the second clamp member. For moving the trolley cross-wise of the sawmill base, a threaded rotatable rod, to which a handle is attached, extends cross-wise of the base. The trolley includes a pair of walls which have a pair of aligned vertically oblong apertures respectively for receiving the rod. A half nut is fixedly attached to a bottom of one of the apertures and has threads which mate with threads on the rod so that the rod can threadedly engage the half nut. The apertures are sized such that the trolley can be tilted so that the threads of the rod and the half nut can be disengaged and the trolley slid along the rod to an approximate position for clampingly engaging the second clamp member to the log or log cant, then, with the trolley positioned upright and the threads of the rod and the half nut re-engaged, the handle can be turned to apply clamping force by the second clamp member to the log or log cant.
