摘要: In a wire electric discharge machine, a discharge delay time is used to classify the inter-electrode state into three categories; a short-circuit state, small-gap state, and large-gap state. Based on this classification, the magnitude of a machining current supplied from a main discharge circuit is determined. If the discharge delay time is zero (i.e., if no electric discharge is generated) after the lapse of a predetermined time since the start of the application of a machining voltage to an inter-electrode gap by an auxiliary discharge circuit, the inter-electrode gap is determined to be short-circuited by machining chips. Thereupon, a short-circuit machining current is supplied from the main discharge circuit to the inter-electrode gap to remove the machining chips. In this way, establishment of a complete short-circuit state is prevented so that the machining efficiency is improved to increase the machining speed.

摘要: A machining method for three-dimensional open flow channel using high-speed arc discharge layered sweep, which arranges an axial line of an installation shaft of a tool electrode with six degrees of freedom to be perpendicular to an axial line of a to-be machined work piece in an arc discharge process, with the tool electrode sweeping in a closed path in a plane or a curved surface perpendicular to the installation shaft, wherein the path of the sweeping satisfies: a space of an enveloped space being formed by the tool electrode moving in the path and being coincident with a removed portion of the work piece does not exceed a preset machined cavity of the flow channel. The present invention is based on high-speed arc discharge of hydrodynamic arc breaking and realized layered milling and surface machining for three-dimensional open flow channels.

摘要: A machining time-estimating method for a wire electrical discharge machine for estimating the remaining machining time (Tr) during the machining of a workpiece comprises: a step for setting a predicted machining velocity; a step for determining the actual machining velocity; a step for determining an estimated machining velocity so as to incorporate the predicted machining velocity and the actual machining velocity at a specified ratio, that is, a reference ratio; and a step for calculating remaining machining time from the estimated machining velocity. By executing the actual machining velocity-determining step to the remaining machining time-calculating step repeatedly to estimate remaining machining time moment by moment, remaining wire electrical discharge machining time is estimated with reduced error.

摘要: A wire electric discharge machining apparatus includes a machining unit that forms a product part by cutting off an outer frame portion from a workpiece and a control device that controls the machining unit. The machining unit machines a first boundary region in a boundary between a member to be the outer frame portion and a member to be the product part to leave an uncut portion, cuts off the product part from the outer frame portion by machining a second boundary region, which is the uncut portion, and repeats machining for the first/second boundary regions. The uncut portion has a side crossing a machining direction in machining the second boundary region, and when machining the second boundary region, the control device controls the machining unit to start the machining from the crossing side.

摘要: A method of polishing a surface of an object disposed within a gas chamber is provided. The method includes filling the gas chamber with a discharging medium to a predefined pressure, applying a voltage between an electrode and the surface, calibrating a height of the electrode relative to the surface so as to establish electrical breakdown threshold criteria, and scanning the electrode with respect to the surface so as to sequentially position the electrode over a plurality of locations on the surface, each location characterized by a surface error. When a respective location in the plurality of locations has a surface error that meets the electrical breakdown threshold criteria, electrical breakdown occurs, whereby the electrical breakdown results in a discharging pulse that polishes the surface.
