Abstract:
A design for repair casting having a repairable ultra-large single-piece casting and a replacement part. The ultra-large single-piece casting includes a main body portion, at least one predefined replaceable portion integrally cast with the main body portion, and a cut-guide delineating the predefined replaceable portion from the main body portion. The cut-guide includes a continuous channel defined on an exterior surface of the single-piece casting. The cut-guide further includes a rib extending from a channel wall on the main body portion. A damaged replaceable portion is excisable from the main-body portion by cutting through the single-piece casting along the cut-guide. The excised damaged replaceable portion may be replaced with the replacement part, which has substantially the same geometry, dimensions, and mechanical properties as an undamaged replaceable portion. The replacement part may be joined to the main body portion by mechanical means or by welding.
Abstract:
A die casting assembly has a cavity defined by multiple dies, the cavity includes at least one sharp corner. Each of the dies includes multiple die segments. A die segment joint between at least two of the die segments is aligned with the sharp corner.
Abstract:
A die cast part of a die casting mold having at least one first component comprising a pressure zone, at least one second component and at least one heat exchange chamber permeated by a fluid and formed by the components for controlling the temperature of the pressure zone. The first component comprises a heat transfer surface integral to at least one wall of the heat exchange chamber and thermally associated with the pressure zone, and the pressure zone bounds at least one region of the gate region. The second component comprises at least one fluid guiding protrusion protruding into the heat transfer chamber and/or a fluid guiding recess open toward the first component. The fluid guiding recess forms at least one portion of the heat exchange chamber and/or the fluid guiding protrusion and/or the fluid guiding recess forms a flow contour surface of the second component in particular adapted to the curve of the heat transfer surface. The shape of the heat exchange chamber is adapted to the curve of at least one flow channel associated with the gate region. The invention further relates to a die casting device.
Abstract:
An apparatus for casting a scroll member of a compressor has a first die and a second die. The first die includes a molding surface for molding a base plate of the scroll member. The second die includes a molding surface for molding a scroll wall of the scroll member. The first and second dies define a cavity for casting the scroll member. The first die also includes a first die-member and a second die-member. The second die-member forms a portion of the scroll member, which extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to a direction in which the first and second dies separate from each other.

Abstract:
The present invention is a mold structure having lightweight module and the replacement method thereof. The mold structure has a lower molding plate, at least one lower die core, a plurality of lower supporters, a plurality of first positioning units, an upper molding plate, at least one upper die core, a plurality of upper supporters and a plurality of merging units. The upper die core and the lower die core are passed through by a plurality of fasteners, and fixed on the upper molding plate and the lower molding plate respectively. The upper supporters and the lower supporters are disposed around the upper die core and the lower die core respectively, and passed through by a plurality of fasteners to fix on the upper molding plate and the lower molding plate respectively. The part of the first positioning unit protruding out of the lower supporter is inserted into the merging unit. The present invention provides an accurate way to fix die core, improves procedures in conventional molding, further reduces process time and saves cost.
Abstract:
A molded article includes a flat plate portion and a projected portion. A molding method includes filling a cavity with the semimolten or semisolid metal in plate thickness directions of the flat plate portion starting from a surface on an opposite side of the flat plate portion from the surface from which the projected portion projects. The cavity is a casting space of the molded article formed inside a forming mold. A molding apparatus for casting the molded article includes a forming mold having the cavity, and a separate insert or slide mold disposed between the cavity and a runner in order to form the runner in plate thickness directions of the flat plate portion starting from the other surface. The runner is used to fill the cavity.
Abstract:
A press casting die able to change its female and male die cores, in which mainly a movable-side fixed plate of a die seat is provided behind a male-die recess with a plate receiving recess of a larger area, the plate receiving recess can be mounted therein with a changeable pressure bearing plate having thereon holes for insertion of pushing-out pins, the pressure bearing plate is abutted against by a pair of die-foot blocks in its rear to thereby have sufficient bearing capability to assure its durability for a high pressure in material injection. Therefore, when life of use the die cavity is exhausted, only the female die core, the male die core and the pressure bearing plate are necessarily changed, thereby the cost of the die is largely reduced, and benefit of environmental conservation can be provided.
Abstract:
The invention achieves a more effective die changing work, reduces a time required for performing die changing of work of a die, and improves an operational availability of a molding machine, in various kinds of molding dies. A die changing operation can be efficiently performed by drawing out an exclusive portion which is automatically attached to and detached from a general portion of a molding die, from the general portion by a feeding means and pressing the exclusive portion to the general portion. Further, the exclusive portion (an old insert) drawn out to a predetermined position from the general portion can be carried out to an outer side of a die casting machine by a carrying means, and another exclusive portion (a new insert) can be carried in to a predetermined position within the machine from the outer side thereof, within the machine in a die unclamp state. A subject to be treated by the feeding means and the carrying means in the die changing operation is only the exclusive portion, and the subject to die changing can be made compact and light in comparison with the case that a whole of the die is changed.
