    摘要: A method for obtaining gypsum using a flue-gas desulfurization system (FGD) having a gypsum suspension, which includes fine materials such as active carbon particles or residual carbonate particles for example, accumulates in the scrubber of a wet flue gas scrubber. The gypsum-containing suspension is thickened by at least one hydrocyclone, and the thickened gypsum suspension is discharged via the underflow of the hydrocyclone. Water is fed to the hydrocyclone in addition to the gypsum suspension via a dedicated feed line such that the content of fine material is thus reduced with respect to the suspension volume in the underflow.

    摘要: Apparatus and method are provided for separating and stripping suspensions comprising catalyst particles transported in vapors from the fluid catalytic cracking riser/reactor. Particles are disentrained from vapor in a vortex zone 112 of the primary cyclonic separator 100. The disentrained particles enter a stripping zone 126, wherein the particles are contacted with a stripping gas 136 to recover vapors entrained and adsorbed onto the catalyst. The stripping gas 136 enters stripping zone 126 via perforations in the wall of the cyclone 100. The stripping gas 136 limits the residual catalytic conversion of hydrocarbon vapors and formation of delta-coke on the catalyst. Stripped catalyst is delivered from the cyclone stripping zone 126 via a dipleg 130 connected to a bottom of the cyclone 100, and enters an FCC stripping vessel. Solids-lean stripping gas and vapors from the catalyst particles are blended with the carrier fluid and discharged from the cyclone.

An apparatus for the separation of a particulate-fluid suspension can include an enclosed vessel having two or more sections disposed coaxially along a common longitudinal centerline, wherein a first section has a first cross sectional area and a second section has a second cross sectional area. A plurality of apertures can be disposed about the second section. The apparatus can have a cylindrical surface, parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the apparatus, disposed within the first section. A fluid distribution channel having a plurality of apertures can be disposed either about an exterior surface or an interior of the apparatus. A plurality of fluid conduits can provide fluid communication between the fluid distribution channel and the plurality of apertures distributed about the second section.

Preferably wherein the diffuser air is admitted into the cyclone in such a manner as to enhance and reinforce the formation of a strong interior vortex.

    摘要: An arrangement for fine dust separation in a fluidized bed reactor with a clone and dust return conduit. A venturi tube extends from the solids discharge of the cyclone intermediate the cyclone and the dust return conduit, and a gas injector is located at the inlet of the venturi tube. The fine dust which leaves the fluidized bed is separated from the exhaust gas in the cyclone, and the separated dust is conducted from the cyclone, through the venturi tube and the dust return conduit, and into the lower region of the fluidized bed. Gas is conducted through the gas injector to help force the separated dust through the return conduit and into the fluidized bed.

    摘要: A cluster of closely spaced cyclones are arranged with their axes in parallel spaced relation, and cylindrical portions of the cyclones form rigid connections between parallel walls which define a chamber for directing fluid into corresponding tangential inlets within the cyclones. In one embodiment, the walls are formed by flanges molded as integral parts of the plastic cyclone bodies, and the flanges are interconnected by key members. In another embodiment, the walls are formed by flat plates which are rigidly connected by independently removable molded plastic bodies having integral threads. Each of the cyclones includes a replaceable apex cone section which may be ceramic and has an externally threaded portion projecting into an apex discharge chamber defined between an inner wall and a parallel spaced transparent outer wall. Each apex cone section is secured to the inner wall by a nut member, and the transparent outer wall is provided with an axially aligned opening and valve for each cyclone for introducing a back flushing fluid or to produce a vacuum at the apex end. The apex cone sections may be secured to the apex discharge housing by threaded sleeves which also form spacers between the walls of the housing and which support corresponding transparent rings. A ceramic probe is adjustable axially within each ring and has a conical inner end which cooperates with the apex end of the corresponding cyclone to define an adjustable annular discharge orifice. The opposite ends of the cyclones have molded plastic closures with vortex finders which project into a vortex chamber defined by a removable cover member. The vortex finders may also project into a tank connected to a vacuum source for deaerating liquid which is received within the tank.
