    Abstract: An orthopaedic cement mixing apparatus comprising a mixing chamber and a cylindrical dispensing chamber, the mixing chamber having an outlet opening and the dispensing chamber having an inlet opening, the outlet opening and the inlet opening being arranged so as to allow cement mixed in the mixing chamber to pass into the dispensing chamber; closure means having a first position separating the outlet opening of the mixing chamber and the inlet opening of the dispensing chamber; and means for applying a vacuum to the mixing chamber and to the dispensing chamber; characterized in that the apparatus further comprises switching means for switching the applied vacuum between the mixing chamber and the dispensing chamber.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a mixing device (1) with a drum (3, 4) which can receive ingredients, the drum (3, 4) comprising a cylindrical vessel (4), and mixing means, which are able to mix the ingredients in the interior of the cylindrical vessel (4), the mixing means being arranged rotatably about a mixing spindle (6), and is characterised in that the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical vessel (4) extends horizontally and the internal diameter of the drum (3, 4) is larger than the internal length of the drum (3, 4).     Abstract: To suppress the thermal expansion of a slide bar and to prevent occurrence of failures such as galling or malfunctioning to the slide bar, a resin discharge mechanism, provided in mixing equipment that includes a barrel having a hollow interior and a pair of mixing rotors accommodated in the barrel and that mixes a resin material by causing the paired mixing rotors to rotate within the barrel, for discharging a part of the resin material mixed by the mixing rotors to an outside of the barrel, the resin discharge mechanism including: a resin discharge passage provided in the barrel, and communicating an inside of the barrel with the outside of the barrel; a slide bar closing or opening the resin discharge passage by moving across the resin discharge passage; and a cooling device provided within the slide bar, and cooling the slide bar using a cooling fluid.
