摘要: The present invention provides a composite catalyst for diminishing energy demand during carbon dioxide absorbent regeneration and a method for producing the same.
The present invention more particularly relates to a composite catalyst in which the surface or inside of activated carbon activated carbon used as a porous carrier is modified with oxides of one or more metals selected from a transition metal group consisting of Fe, Ni, and Mo, and a method for producing the composite catalyst.
The activated carbon composite catalyst modified with a metal of the present invention is able to regenerate MEA (monoethanolamine) at a low temperature of 100° C. or below to diminish heat consumption, can decrease the heat duty by increasing the carbon dioxide desorption rate at a low temperature of 100° C. or below as well as acquire improved results through the relation between the BET surface area and the total acid sites, and can be usefully used as a technology capable of diminishing energy demand during energy-efficient CO2 absorbent regeneration at an economical cost since materials for production are inexpensive and abundant.-

摘要: Absorption of one or more acid gases from a gas stream may take place using diglycolamine as an absorbent. Methods for processing the absorbent after acid gas absorption may comprise: obtaining an at least partially spent aqueous amine solution from an absorber tower; removing at least a portion of the one or more acid gases from the at least partially spent aqueous amine solution in a regeneration tower to form an at least partially regenerated aqueous amine solution comprising diglycolamine and bis-(2-hydroxyethoxyethyl)urea; and introducing at least a first portion of the at least partially regenerated aqueous amine solution to a reclaimer under thermal conditions effective to revert at least a majority of the bis-(2-hydroxyethoxyethyl) urea to diglycolamine. The reclaimer is heated with a steam input that is in indirect contact with the at least partially regenerated aqueous amine solution and cooled with at least a diglycolamine stream.

摘要: A water-lean carbon dioxide absorbent according to the present invention comprises a cyclodiamine and a polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether and further comprises an alkanolamine, wherein the absorbent shows an excellent reaction rate with carbon dioxide, is resistant to degradation due to oxygen and heat, and can greatly reduce energy consumption due to latent heat of water when regenerated, and thus leads to a water-lean carbon dioxide absorbent with improved regeneration efficiency.

摘要: A method of capturing a target species from a gas comprises the steps of:
contacting a gas containing a target species with a first absorbent solution comprising a capture species; dissolving the target species in the first absorbent solution to form a target anion; electrochemically separating the target anion from the first absorbent solution by contacting the first absorbent solution with one or more ion-exchange membranes, and transferring the target anion through an ion-exchange membrane into a second absorbent solution; and releasing at least some of the target species from the second absorbent solution. The one or more ion-exchange membranes are not permeable to the capture species, so the capture species does not pass through the one or more ion-exchange membranes. An apparatus for capturing a target species from a gas is also provided.-

摘要: Capture of hydrogen sulfide from a gas mixture may be accomplished using an aqueous solution comprising an amine. Certain sterically hindered amines may selectively form a reaction product with hydrogen sulfide under kinetically controlled contacting conditions and afford a light phase and a heavy phase above a critical solution temperature, wherein the hydrogen sulfide may be present in either phase. Upon separation of the light phase from the heavy phase, processing of one of the phases may take place to remove hydrogen sulfide therefrom. Recycling of the amine to an absorber tower may then take place to promote capture of additional hydrogen sulfide.

摘要: Disclosed are a carbon dioxide absorbent composition in which an N-alkylaminoalkanol; a polyhydroxyamine-based compound; and ethylenediamine and/or diethylenetriamine are mixed, a method for preparing the same, and a method and an apparatus for carbon dioxide absorption/separation using the same. Since the carbon dioxide absorbent according to the present disclosure has superior carbon dioxide absorption capacity and remarkably lower absorbent recycling temperature as compared to the existing absorbents such as monoethanolamine, etc., total energy consumption in the capturing process can be reduced greatly. In addition, since carbon dioxide is recovered at low recycling temperature, contamination by water or absorbent vapor may be prevented.

摘要: Embodiments of methods and associate system for removing acid gas from a sour gas stream are provided. The method includes (1) passing the sour gas stream in a counter-flow arrangement with an encapsulated phase change material and a lean amine based sorbent liquid configured to absorb the acid gas from the sour gas stream in an absorber; (2) separating the rich amine based sorbent liquid and the encapsulated phase change material; (3) passing the rich amine based sorbent liquid to an amine regenerator wherein the rich amine based sorbent liquid is heated to release the absorbed sour gas and regenerate the lean amine based sorbent liquid; and (4) passing the encapsulated phase change material and the regenerated lean amine based sorbent liquid through a cooler to reduce the temperature of the encapsulated phase change material such that the phase change material in the encapsulated phase change material solidifies.

摘要: A method and an integrated system for reducing CO2 emissions in industrial processes. The method and integrated system (100) capture carbon dioxide (CO2) gas from a first gas stream (104) with a chemical absorbent to produce a second gas stream (106) having a higher concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) gas and a lower concentration of CO2 gas as compared to first gas stream. The CO gas in the second gas stream is used to produce C5 to C20 hydrocarbons in an exothermic reaction (108) with hydrogen (H2) gas (138). At least a portion of the heat generated in the exothermic reaction is used to regenerate the chemical absorbent with the liberation of the CO2 gas (128) captured from the first gas stream. Heat captured during the exothermic reaction can, optionally, first be used to generate electricity, wherein the heat remaining after generating electricity is used to thermally regenerate the chemical absorbent.
