摘要: A method is described for evaporating liquid samples contained in sample holders mounted within a chamber and rotated by the rotor during an evaporation process in which the pressure in the chamber is reduced below atmospheric and the sample holders are rotated at high speed so as to exert centrifugal force on the contents of the holders. Heat is supplied to elevate the temperature of the liquid component of the samples to assist in the evaporation process. The temperature of the sample material is continuously or regularly monitored during the evaporation process and temperature signals are transmitted to a remote computing means which is programmed to generate a control signal for controlling the supply of heat to the samples and controlling the evaporation process. The temperature may be sensed by a probe in a sample holder containing an evaporating liquid sample, or in an adjoining sample holder containing a buffer liquid. The rotational speed is also sensed and a speed signal conveyed to the computing means. In an alternative method the rate of flow of vapour from the chamber is monitored and a flow rate signal is computed which is also supplied to the computer means and the evaporation process is controlled in relation to the value of the vapour flow rate signal. Improved methods of heating and means for supporting sample holders which are to be heated, to achieve more uniform heating thereof, within an evaporating chamber, are described. Apparatus for performing the various methods is also described.

摘要: A structure of supporting frame for heater lamp in evaporator is disclosed. The supporting frame contains a lower supporting frame and an upper supporting female, respectively, by means of a non-circle section on the male portion and a complementary section on the female portion to conjoin together and to restrain them to rotate. Consequently, the proposed supporting frame provides directly locating during the female joint step of male portion and female portion. The time consuming steps for e-beam evaporator maintain are thus omitted.

摘要: An electrostatic levitation crystal growth apparatus for a solution and a crystal growing method using the same. The apparatus may include an upper electrode, a lower electrode vertically spaced apart from the upper electrode, a power supply unit configured to apply a vertical electrostatic field between the upper electrode and the lower electrode, and a droplet dispenser configured to eject a solution into a region between the upper and lower electrodes and thereby to form a solution droplet. The solution droplet may be maintained in a charged state and may be electrostatically levitated against the gravity exerted thereon, by the vertical electrostatic field. The solution droplet may be evaporated in the electrostatically levitated state, and a solute dissolved in the solution may be grown to form a crystal.

摘要: Extraction apparatus and method for obtaining essential oils, essence, and pigments from odorous raw materials (e.g., plant materials and Chinese medicinal herbs) by microwave radiation heating have advantages of easy operation, higher extracting temperature and efficiency. The microwave chamber has a power level of 100 W to 1,500 W and its microwave radiation has a frequency at 915 MHz or 2,450 MHz. The extraction process can be performed without any preheating necessary. A condenser is operated at temperatures between −20° C. and 15° C. for cooling the gas flowing out of the extraction cartridges. Because both volatile fragrant compounds and pigments of the odorous raw materials can be extracted successfully by the top-down extraction fashion, the extracted essence is colorful. Since the extraction process by microwave heating is free from adding any organic solvent and/or any artificial chemical compound, the extraction apparatus and method are environmentally friendly.

摘要: An evaporator is provided for evaporation of liquid from a solution or liquid mixtures, together with methods of operation of the evaporator. The evaporator comprises a chamber (1); a liquid reservoir (3) for holding a heat transfer liquid exposed to the interior of the chamber; a support (6) for supporting a container (8) in the chamber, such that the liquid sample in the container is exposed to a fluid path (15) for connection to a condenser (16), the fluid path being separated from the chamber interior, and at least a portion of the container is closely thermally coupled to the chamber interior; and means (4) for heating the heat transfer liquid in the reservoir to create heat transfer liquid vapour, which in use condenses and releases latent heat of vaporisation to the liquid sample in the container. As the temperature of the sample is dependent on the saturated vapour temperature of the liquid in the reservoir, the temperature of the samples is reliably limited, thereby avoiding overheating. High levels of heat energy may be delivered controllably to the samples, enabling a high evaporation rate to be achieved at relatively low temperature.
