Abstract:
Proposed is an incubator that comprises a body including a bottom plate to lay a baby on an upper portion, a fixed frame connected at a lower portion to a side of the body, an elevation frame connected to the fixed frame and configured to be moved up and down with respect to the fixed frame, a heater configured in conjunction with movement of the elevation frame and being moved up and down with up-down movement of the elevation frame, a hood connected to the elevation frame and configured to open and close a top of the body by moving up and down in conjunction with movement of the elevation frame, and a driving mechanism for moving up and down the elevation frame and the hood, and further comprises a tilting means of tilting the heater at a predetermined angle in conjunction with up-down movement of the elevation frame.
Abstract:
An incubator to maintain environmental conditions suitable for an infant is provided. The incubator comprises a vertical support structure with a plurality of horizontal columns connected to a bottom end of the vertical support structure to form a base portion. A crib is mounted on to the vertical support structure above the base portion for supporting the infant. The crib comprises a base plate and a plurality of plates arranged in a predetermined manner to form side walls of the crib. At least one dispenser nozzle is provided in the side walls for supplying water vapors to the crib. A humidification system, attachable at least to the base portion of the incubator, is fluidly connected to the inlets of the dispenser nozzles for supplying the water vapors. A radiant warmer is mounted on a top end of the vertical support structure for supplying radiant heat energy to the crib.
Abstract:
A system for monitoring the physiological conditions of a plurality of infants in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The system includes a plurality of microenvironments, a plurality of environmental sensors to detect a first environmental condition in the microenvironments, and a plurality of external environmental sensors to detect a second environmental condition in the NICU. The system also includes a central processor that compares signals from the environmental sensors to signals from the external environmental sensors and determines a correlation between the first environmental condition and the second environmental condition. A method of monitoring the conditions of a plurality of infants is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An infant incubator including: a bed of an infant; a first supporting-shaft disposed at obliquely above the bed, extends substantially horizontally, and rotatable back and forth at a predetermined extent around an axis; a rotation stay fixed to and rotated with the first supporting-shaft; a second supporting-shaft provided with the rotation stay and parallel to the first supporting-shaft; and a heater disposed at obliquely above the bed, supported to the rotation stay rotatably back and forth at a predetermined extent around the second supporting-shaft, and possible to emit heat ray obliquely to an upper surface of the bed, wherein a position of the heater can be varied between a heating position for emitting the heat ray and a folding position for moving away from above the bed; and at the heating position, an emission angle of the heat ray from the heater is further varied.
Abstract:
A thermotherapy device (1) includes a basic housing (2) with walls (14) with a support for a patient and an especially transparent covering hood (3) for the basic housing (2), which covering hood can be moved between a closed position and an open position, so that the basic housing (2) is closed by the covering hood (3) in the closed position. A guide mechanism (4) is provided for mechanically guiding the motion of the covering hood (3) between the closed position and open position. A heater such as a convection heater with a blower heats the air and/or an air humidifier humidifies the air. The covering hood (3) is moved in a simple manner and access to the support for a patient is essentially not hindered by the covering hood (3) in the open position.
Abstract:
In an incubator according to the present invention, a single incubator can be used in any state of four types of devices and thus obviates the need for having many types of devices. A canopy is lowered and raised. In addition to that, a left and right treatment door and a foot end treatment door can be located at their highest positions, lowest positions, and intermediate positions. Also, an infrared heater can be lowered and raised independently of the canopy. This makes it possible to switch the incubator among: a state of an open type incubator; a state of a closed type incubator in which the infrared heater is at its highest position such that the infrared heater can heat the canopy and others; a state of a closed type incubator in which the infrared heater is at its lowest position and this incubator is easily conveyable; and a state of a resuscitation treatment device.
Abstract:
In an incubator according to the present invention, physical condition of a newborn is less likely to get out of order though a hand insertion window can easily be opened by operation with, for example, an elbow instead of a hand. A latch in a latch mechanism has a spiral face that extends to at least part of the periphery of a rotation shaft that extends along a side of a newborn chamber. A releasing member in the latch mechanism presses the spiral face of the latch by movement along the side of the newborn chamber and rotates the latch from a holding position to a releasing position for a hand insertion door. In addition, even if the latch in the latch mechanism rotates about the rotation shaft between the holding and releasing positions for the hand insertion door, the releasing member does not rotate.
Abstract:
An infant-support apparatus for an incubator or warmer. The apparatus comprises a frame and an infant supporting deck having a central position relative to the frame. The deck is movable relative to the frame to laterally extended positions away from the central position.
Abstract:
An infant care apparatus having a canopy movable vertically with respect to an infant platform. The canopy has a lower edge mating with upper peripheral edges of a plurality of vertical walls forming an infant compartment. At least one of the vertical walls is a door pivotally affixed to the infant platform and rotates between open and closed positions. A seal is located on the lower edge of the canopy to seal against the upper peripheral edge of the vertical walls. An elongated flange of the seal is affixed to the canopy by hardware and a cover flap extends downwardly from the upper edge of the flange to cover the hardware. A sealing flap extends downwardly and inwardly toward the infant compartment from the lower edge of the flange. A flexible material is co-extruded with the seal for the sealing flap and a hinge between the flange and the cover flap.
Abstract:
An infant care unit and method include providing a base, providing an infant-support on the base, providing a canopy and providing a mounting assembly coupling the canopy to the base. The mounting assembly includes a pivot mechanism.
