摘要： There is provided a method for controlling a flow of sperms in a uterine tube formed by a uterine tube wall of a patient. The method comprises gently constricting (i.e., without substantially hampering the blood circulation in the uterine tube wall) at least one portion of the uterine tube wall to influence the flow of sperms in the uterine tube, and stimulating the constricted wall portion to cause contraction of the uterine tube wall portion to further influence the flow of sperms in the uterine tube. The method can be used for restricting or stopping the flow of sperms in the uterine tube, or for actively moving the fluid in the uterine tube, with a low risk of injuring the uterine tube.

摘要： A medical instrument for ligation of tissue and anatomical structures, including fallopian tubes comprises at least two slideable shafts concentrically disposed relative to each other. A first shaft has a tissue receiving recess into which tissue is retracted by a grasper. The grasper is disposed on the end of a second shaft that is extendible from the first shaft. A ring retainer on the second or a third shaft can hold one or more elastic rings that are displaceable by the instrument around tissue extending from the tissue receiving recess. The rings are held on a tapered or necked down part of the instrument so that the rings contribute little or nothing to the largest outer diameter (OD) of the portion of the instrument that is inserted into a patient's body. Because the ring or rings do not contribute to the OD of the instrument, the instrument may be constructed to fit within insertion channels of 5 mm or less.

摘要： A disposable applicator device for applying tubal occlusion clips, particularly clips utilized in mini-laparotomy sterilization surgery. The applicator includes a grasping lever for grasping the hook portion of the clip and a guiding arm for gripping, guiding and forcing the projection portion of the clip. The grasping lever and guiding lever are connected by swivel hinge and a separation restrictor such that the relative motion of the levers is restricted to a predetermined arc within a plane. The applicator is adapted to deliver a tubal occlusion clip into position, force the clip from an open mode to a closed mode about the desired tissue, and then slidably disengage from the clip, leaving the clip installed upon the tissue.

摘要： This invention relates to forceps instruments, particularly those used for fitting tantalum clips for sealing off the Fallopian tubes in the human female. Such instruments ordinarily comprise a barrel with a handle at the proximal end thereof to open and close jaws of the forceps for the clips at the distal end of the barrel, the surgeon observing the operational area by means of an optical system that includes a viewing tube associated with the forceps instrument. In accordance with the invention, the viewing tube extends centrally through the barrel which is longitudinally movable to open and close the forceps jaws; the viewing tube terminates in a straight line so as to give the surgeon uninterrupted vision between the forceps jaws.

摘要： This application presents a bifurcated, optimally-angled surgical forceps. In one example, this surgical forceps may enable a more natural maneuver for initial clamping of the vas deferens through the scrotal skin. This may be more comfortable for users and easier to maintain, and may provide greater tactile surface contact between the thumb and vas deferens. This device also may provide the surgeon with an entire segment of vas deferens upon which the vasectomy may be performed, thus reducing the need for frequent repositioning of instruments. The device may also be applied to other surgical procedures that may benefit from the features of the device and where a section of a tubular anatomical structure may need clamping at two points along its length. Examples include blood and lymphatic vessels, ducts of the digestive system, and large nerves or nerve bundles.
