摘要: Disclosed is a wound dressing which can retain exudate to prevent it from spreading over a larger area while maintaining a moist environment, can be easily peeled off after use, can prevent skin redness, heat rash, or offensive smell, and can fit various shapes of wound surfaces. The wound dressing is provided with a liquid-permeable layer (1) on the surface to be used to face a wound site (15). The liquid-permeable layer (1) comprises a resin surface sheet (10). The surface sheet (10) comprises a first surface (11) which is to face the wound site (15), a second surface (12) which is the opposite surface to the first surface, and a large number of penetration pores (13) penetrating through the sheet from the first surface (11) to the second surface (12) in the thickness direction. The penetration pores (13) allow the permeation of a liquid from the first surface (11) to the second surface (12). The first surface (11) is hydrophobic.

摘要: The present invention provides systems and methods for protecting wounds, such as surgical incisions. In one embodiment, a dressing for protecting a wound includes: a support cushion configured to surround the wound, the support cushion having sidewalls defining a major axis and a minor axis, the support cushion including at least two perforations that traverse the sidewalls at offset locations; a reservoir configured to be suspended over and in engagement with the support cushion; and a cover configured to be positioned over the reservoir. The at least two perforations may define first and second interlocking J-shaped portions. The support cushion may include a wicking portion configured to surround the wound and a hydrophobic portion configured to surround the hydrophobic portion. The wicking portion may be configured to transfer fluid from the wound to the reservoir. Methods of applying the dressing, and kits including the dressing, also are provided.

摘要: An apparatus for keeping dry a portion of a person's skin, including a belt portion having an outer side and an inner side, configured for placement of the inner side against an abdominal area of a person's body to prevent water from passing between the inner side and the abdominal area, and also including a body portion configured to cover at least a portion of the abdominal area. The body portion may include a body top end forming a first opening sized to receive a portion of the abdominal area, and include a body bottom end having at least one second opening sized to receive a portion of the person's body, and a body middle connecting the body top end and the body bottom end. Also, a method for keeping dry a target portion of a person's skin using an apparatus having a belt portion and a body portion.

摘要: A custom fabricated (e.g. custom shaped and dimensioned) wound dressing that matches a corresponding, pre-mapped integumentary wound includes one or more liquid flow barriers composed for example of a hydrophobic and high viscosity liquid embedded in a layer of the dressing. One such embedded hydrophobic liquid barrier covers a skin section immediately adjacent to the wound opening so as to protect the skin section from harmful liquids such as exudates or water. In one embodiment, the skin protecting barrier is substantially comprised of a silicone oil having a viscosity in the range of about 100 cSt to 1000 cSt.
