摘要: A prosthetic socket system includes a prosthetic lock assembly having a lock body defining a pin hole adapted to receive an attachment pin, and a locking device in the lock body. The locking device is engageable with the attachment pin to unidirectionally lock the attachment pin in the lock body while permitting insertion of the attachment pin in the lock body. A valve assembly is positioned in the lock body that is movable between a closed position and an open position in which the valve assembly is unsealed so that air moves into the lock body via the valve assembly. A release mechanism positioned in the lock body is arranged to both release the locking device from the attachment pin and move the valve assembly to the open position by translating the locking device in the lock body.

摘要: A prosthetic system includes a prosthetic foot with a foot member defining a first end portion, a second end portion, and an intermediate portion defining a curvature and extending between the first and second end portions. A pump mechanism is coupled to the foot member. The pump mechanism includes a housing defining a cavity, and a membrane situated in the cavity. The pump mechanism is movable between an original configuration and an expanded configuration. A movable member includes a first portion coupled to the membrane and a second portion arranged to slidably engage the foot member. Relative movement between the first and second end portions moves the first portion of the movable member relative to the housing and slides the second portion along a length of the foot member to shift the pump mechanism between the original and expanded configurations.

摘要: An interchangeable lock-pump prosthetic system that includes a universal dummy, vacuum pump, and mechanical lock. Each of the three objects have similar geometries for the purpose of fitting into a prosthetic, whereupon a user may for instance, swap the vacuum pump with the lock, depending on the needs of the user and without changing to a separate prosthetic. The universal dummy is an inactive component and acts as a placeholder during manufacturing of the socket, for the eventual inclusion of the vacuum pump or mechanical lock. The vacuum pump is a pressure dependent object that acts to remove any residual air between the socket and the elastomeric liner. The lock takes advantage of a mechanical locking pin which receives a properly configured liner, thus securing the user within the prosthetic socket.

摘要: A suspension liner is adapted to provide an interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket. The suspension liner defines an interior surface and an exterior surface forming a liner profile between a closed distal end and an open proximal end. The suspension liner defines a liner body portion formed from an elastomeric material and at least one seal protruding circumferentially about and radially outward a distance from the liner profile, which is defined at areas outside the at least one seal. The at least one seal has a distal root extending from the liner profile, a distal section projecting from the distal root and terminating at a peak defined as the outermost portion of the at least one seal, and a proximal section extending from the peak to a proximal free end arranged for deflection relative to the liner profile.

摘要: A prosthetic system includes a liner adapted to receive a residual limb and having a liner body formed from an elastomeric material. The liner body defines an outer surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface. The inner surface includes a first part arranged to form a seal between the liner and the residual limb, and a second part of the inner surface has at least one flow channel arranged for promoting movement of fluid away from a skin surface of the residual limb. An outlet is defined in the second part and extends between the inner and outer surfaces. The at least one flow channel is defined in the elastomeric material forming the liner body and is in fluid communication with the outlet.

摘要: The conformable convection liner is for use with a prosthetic system and configured to be donned over a residual limb of an amputee. The conformable convection liner includes a tubular body formed from an elastomeric limb-conforming material and including an outer surface and inner surface extending between a proximal end and a distal end thereof. A seal area is defined at the proximal end of the tubular body on the inner surface thereof. An outlet port is positioned at the distal end of the tubular body between the inner and outer surfaces thereof. An inner regulated environment is defined between the inner surface of the tubular body and the residual limb, the inner regulated environment extending between the proximal end of the tubular body with the seal area and the distal end of the tubular body with the outlet port. One or more internal convection guides are formed in the elastomeric limb-conforming material on the internal surface of the tubular body below the seal area and configured to promote the flow of fluid within the inner regulated environment towards the outlet port at the distal end of the tubular body.

摘要: The socket system includes a socket and a vacuum liner. A one-way valve is positioned within the closed distal end of the socket and provides controlled fluid communication between the interior socket space and an external environment. The closed distal end of the vacuum liner includes a distal portion formed of a higher durometer elastomeric material than the surrounding portions of the liner, and including a concave section extending from an external surface thereof towards the interior liner space. The socket, on the interior of the closed distal end thereof, includes a receiving portion that corresponds to and receives the distal portion of the vacuum liner (e.g. matching the perimeter and depth of the distal portion). The receiving portion includes a bottom surface (e.g. a flat surface) opposite to the concave section of the vacuum liner when received therein, and defining an exterior liner space therewith.

The second end portion of the first plate situated between the foot member and the second plate. A pump mechanism includes a housing secured to the second plate and a membrane operatively connected to the first place and the housing. The pump mechanism defines a fluid chamber between a bottom surface of the housing and a top surface of the membrane.

摘要: A valve for use with a prosthetic socket includes a body defining an upper opening, a lower opening adapted to be in fluid communication with the socket cavity, and a passageway formed between the openings. A membrane is flexibly seated on the body over the upper opening. The membrane is moveable between a closed position in which the upper opening is sealed such that fluid communication between the upper opening and the lower opening is inhibited, and an open position in which the upper opening is unsealed such that fluid can flow through the passageway. The membrane includes a first part connected to a release element that is operable to move the membrane between the open and closed positions, and a free part operable independent of the first part to move the membrane between the open and closed positions.
