Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an osseointegrative implant and related tools, components and fabrication techniques for surgical bone fixation and dental restoration purposes. In one embodiment an all-ceramic single-stage threaded or press-fit implant is provided having finely detailed surface features formed by ceramic injection molding and/or spark plasma sintering of a powder compact or green body comprising finely powdered zirconia. In another embodiment a two-stage threaded implant is provided having an exterior shell or body formed substantially entirely of ceramic and/or CNT-reinforced ceramic composite material. The implant may include one or more frictionally anisotropic bone-engaging surfaces. In another embodiment a densely sintered ceramic implant is provided wherein, prior to sintering, the porous debound green body is exposed to ions and/or particles of silver, gold, titanium, zirconia, YSZ, α-tricalcium phosphate, hydroxyapatite, carbon, carbon nanotubes, and/or other particles which remain lodged in the implant surface after sintering. Optionally, at least the supragingival portions of an all-ceramic implant are configured to have high translucence in the visible light range. Optionally, at least the bone-engaging portions of an all-ceramic implant are coated with a fused layer of titanium oxide.

Abstract: A bone foundation guide system has a bone foundation guide including a body that is contoured to reversibly affix to a bone segment of a dental implant surgical site. The body is further contoured to guide the cutting of a portion of the bone segment from a dental implant surgical site and alternatively support a dental implant surgical guide. The body is further contoured to support a bone foundation guide prosthesis as an alternative to the dental implant surgical guide. The bone foundation guide prosthesis combines with the body to accommodate the bone segment portion as placed through the body prior to the bone segment portion being removed from the dental implant site through the use of the body.

Abstract: A novel method incorporates ground dentin as a bioactive bone graft. An extracted tooth is processed into a sterilized particulate bone replacement graft material. While the graft material is being processed and sterilized, the roots of the adjacent tooth with periodontal disease are cleaned of physical debris. The outer smear layer is removed, exposing the dentin tubules and collagen by treatment with EDTA. The processed, sterilized dentin is then used alone or mixed with mineralized allograft and formed into a PRF block to help it maintain volumetric shape during the initial healing process. After insertion into the surgical site, it is covered by a barrier, preferentially a bioactive amnion/chorion barrier. The flaps are then sutured to attempt to obtain primary closure over the graft and barrier.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method for producing an occlusive barrier (1) for bone regeneration, and the occlusive barrier (1) obtained by means of said method.
