摘要: A method for controlling overpressure in an electric oral-care implement having a treatment head with at least one functional element driven by a motor. The method includes detecting a stimulus to energize the motor, setting a baseline current, and repeatedly execute an overpressure-detection control loop, said loop including measuring the motor's instantaneous current draw, adding an increment value to the baseline current or subtracting a decrement value from the baseline current thereby generating a dynamically adjusted baseline current, determining whether a difference between the instantaneous current draw and the dynamically adjusted baseline current exceeds a threshold thereby detecting an occurrence of overpressure, and performing a corrective action in response to the detected occurrence of overpressure.

摘要: A wear-out assessment for an oral care system (14) (e.g. an oral cleaning device) is disclosed. A sensor unit (16) of the oral care system is adapted to provide a sensor signal related to a cleaning efficacy of a cleaning function of the oral care system when generated when the oral care system is inside a user's mouth. The sensor unit (16) may be, or may be coupled to, a component which is used during execution of an oral care function of the device, for example a sensor for detecting cleaning progress in the mouth, or a component which drives a cleaning or treatment action in the mouth. In accordance with the invention, the sensor signal (20) generated when the oral care system is outside the mouth is used for performing a wear-out assessment. As relevant components used by the oral care system (14) for the oral care function wear, characteristics of the sensor signal (20) may change in a predictable way, which can be used to identify when a wear-out state has been reached.

A motion pattern recognition device discriminates between two or more motion patterns contained in a set of motion patterns. An interface provides at least one inertial sensor data from the inertial sensor to the motion pattern recognition device. At least one inertial sensor data represents a movement of the movable treatment device. A neural network is configured to receive the at least one inertial sensor data and to map the at least one inertial sensor data to at least one motion pattern contained in the set of motion patterns associated with one or more different zones of the target surface so that the mapping of the at least one inertial sensor data with the at least one motion pattern indicates an estimation of the location of the device with respect to at least one zone of the target surface.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an electric toothbrush, including a shell, a toothbrush head, a first spiral bevel gear, a second spiral bevel gear, and a drive motor. The toothbrush head is connected with the second spiral bevel gear; the first spiral bevel gear and the second spiral bevel gear are in transmission connection; the first spiral bevel gear is arranged above the drive motor and is in transmission connection with the drive motor; a central axis of the first spiral bevel gear is perpendicular to a central axis of the second spiral bevel gear; and the drive motor has a stepped shaft connected to the first spiral bevel gear. The first spiral bevel gear and the second spiral bevel gear are used to drive the toothbrush head to rotate, so that the drive is steady and the transmission efficiency is high. A main shaft of the drive motor adopts the stepped shaft, which can improve the transmission efficiency, so that the transmission is steadier. Since the coupling in the existing art is simplified, noise generated in the transmission process can be reduced, disordered shake in the rotating process of the toothbrush head is reduced, the use experience of a user is enhanced, and the service life is prolonged.

摘要: In one embodiment, an oral care system is disclosed that includes an oral care device and at least one programmable processor. The oral care device includes a head having a reference face, a light source, at least one orientation sensor generating orientation data corresponding to orientation measurements of the reference face during a freeform oral care routine, and at least one optical sensor generating optical sensor data representing optical feedback resulting from the light from the light source being incident upon sections of the oral cavity. The processor, based on the orientation data, determines which optical sensor data corresponds with which of the sections of the oral cavity. For each section of the oral cavity, based on the corresponding optical sensor data, the processor determines an oral care characteristic.

摘要: An oral care system for sensing blood in an oral cavity and in gum tissue. The sensing is performed magnetically using a magnetic field source (16) and magnetic sensing arrangement (18) incorporated into a cleaning or treatment portion of an oral care device (e.g. a brush head of a toothbrush or mouthpiece part of a brushing mouthpiece device). The field source generates (16) a reference field and the sensing arrangement (18) is arranged to sense the field strength of the reference field at one or more spatial points. Since blood is magnetic, when brought into the reference field, it magnetically interacts with the field, which may alter field strength, field shape, or flux distribution. This enables presence of blood to be detected. It also allows for detecting specific oral features or disease states associated with presence of blood or abnormal amounts or concentrations of blood. For example, this can be based on application of detection criteria which relate to one or more properties of the sensed field.
