Abstract:
An oral treatment device includes intraoral image sensor equipment configured to generate image data representing at least a portion of the oral cavity of a user during use by the user of the oral treatment device. The oral treatment device includes a controller configured to process the generated image data to determine location data indicating a location of an interproximal gap between adjacent teeth in the oral cavity of the user. The controller is configured to process the generated image data using a trained classification algorithm configured to identify interproximal gaps, the trained classification algorithm having been trained prior to the use of the oral treatment device. The controller is configured to, during the use of the oral treatment device, control the oral treatment device to deliver a treatment to the detected interproximal gap based on the location data.
Abstract:
A vibrating toothbrush and an eccentric shaft are proposed. The vibrating toothbrush includes a head in which bristles are planted, and a handle from which a head coupler protrudes, the head being detachably coupled to the head coupler. The toothbrush includes an electric motor accommodated in the handle to generate rotating force; and an eccentric shaft rotatably connected to the electric motor, at least a portion thereof being eccentric to generate vibration and thereby transmit vibration to the head coupler. The eccentric shaft includes a motor fixing part connected to the electric motor; an eccentric weight configured to be offset from a rotation center of the electric motor; and a rotating shaft formed of a metal material, and connecting the motor fixing part and the eccentric weight.
Abstract:
A video capable electric toothbrush for proper periodontium prophylaxis having a rotating bristle assembly configured to rotate in multiple directions so as to implement a brushing technique having the brush rotate in a direction from the gum towards the tooth by use of a switch, and regardless of the specific tooth or teeth being brushed, the electric toothbrush is configured to brush along the gingival margin towards the tooth crown. The video capability allows a user to see and target brushing along the gingival margin, and recognize areas with high debris quantity requiring additional attention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dental care device for detection and removal of plaque automatically and independently, comprising: a) a motion controlled and pressure sensitive plaque removal head having at least one array of bristles; b) a plaque detection unit adapted to capture images of the teeth and gums, wherein said plaque detection unit includes an imaging device and a light source with specific wavelength for illumination said teeth and gums; and c) a plaque detection engine adapted to process the captured images in order to detect plaque infected areas on said teeth, and accordingly to generate instructions for automatically guiding said motion controlled plaque removal head, thereby executing all the necessary movements for automatically and independently removing the plaque from said teeth while minimizing abrasiveness by controlling the pressure applied and avoiding brushing to clean areas of the teeth and gums.
Abstract:
A toothbrush having brush means and a means to support the brush means; and a one or two part therapeutic tooth treatment composition which becomes activated when wet incorporated on the brush means or within the toothbrush means to support the brush means in a manner such that the composition remains inactive during storage and is only activated when contacted with water or saliva; and a method comprising brushing a tooth with the toothbrush so that the brush means become wet with saliva, optionally wetting the brush means with water immediately prior to brushing a tooth, and the composition becomes activated to form a therapeutic composition to provide remineralization, whitening, and/or fluoridation.
Abstract:
An interdental treatment device, such as a toothbrush, includes a handle configured to accommodate an electric power source, a head carrying an interdental treatment tool, and a neck between the handle and the head. The head or neck includes a mechanical motorized vibratory device, including a drive which causes the head to vibrate. Electrical connections are operably connected to the mechanical vibratory device and the electric power source to power the mechanical vibratory device via the electrical connections. In various embodiments, a switch may be operably connected to at least one of the electrical connections to interrupt power from the power source to the mechanical motorized vibratory device. In various embodiments, a vibration-damping structure dampens vibration transmission from the head to the handle.
Abstract:
An adjustable bristle toothbrush apparatus which provides pneumatic bristle exposed length pressure adjustment. Bristles are provided in bristle bundles which are affixed to bristle bases. Each base moves within an individual cylinder via a slave piston. Adjustment of chamber pressure via the adjustment knob on the handle first end determines slave piston resistance to inward movement.
Abstract:
Toothbrushes comprising components with light transmitting and structural characteristics provide enhanced visual and other sensory effects. The components in combination are generally chemically compatible and function to provide areas of varying visibility of features and optionally varying scent release.
