摘要: A modulated physiological sensor is a noninvasive device responsive to a physiological reaction of a living being to an internal or external perturbation that propagates to a skin surface area. The modulated physiological sensor has a detector configured to generate a signal responsive to the physiological reaction. A modulator varies the coupling of the detector to the skin so as to at least intermittently maximize the detector signal. A monitor controls the modulator and receives an effectively amplified detector signal, which is processed to calculate a physiological parameter indicative of the physiological reaction.

摘要: A magnetic resonance (MR) compatible transducer for magnetic resonance elastography applications has a cantilevered drive element a free end of which is arranged in use to move reciprocally, and a flexible non-conductive connection rod slidably disposed within a flexible non-conductive sleeve. The connection rod is affixed at a proximal end to the cantilevered drive element via a proximal flexible connection piece that in use accommodates the slight rotational movement of the cantilevered drive element as it reciprocates about its secured end, whilst translating the rotational reciprocation of the cantilevered drive element into a pure translational reciprocation of the connection rod within the sleeve. The distal end of the connection rod is affixed against a protrusion connected to another cantilevered driven element, upon which is mounted a piston element that in use contacts the subject. The distal end of the connection rod is provided with a distal flexible connection piece that forms the connection between the end of the connection rod and the cantilevered driven element, again to account for the pure translational movement of the rod being converted to rotational movement of the cantilevered driven element about its cantilever pivot point.

摘要: A magnetic resonance elastography apparatus, which may include a magnetic resonance apparatus and an elastography apparatus, is described. The magnetic resonance apparatus comprises a scanner unit, a patient receiving region surrounded at least partially by the scanner unit, and a patient couch, which is embodied to introduce a patient into the patient receiving region. The elastography apparatus comprises a drive unit, a vibration applicator which is arranged for an examination on the patient, and a force transmission unit, which is embodied to transmit a drive moment from the drive unit to the vibration applicator. The elastography apparatus comprises an EMC-tight shield housing with a cylindrical radiofrequency hollow conductor, and the drive unit is arranged within the radiofrequency hollow conductor.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a device for testing for a foot ulcer and, particularly, to a method and a device for testing for a foot ulcer, wherein the method comprises the steps of: inputting an initial value into a terminal; operating, on the basis of the initial value, at least one of multiple stimulation devices provided in a body having a shape corresponding to the shape of the bottom of the foot; inputting a checkup value into the terminal; determining whether the checkup value corresponds to the operated stimulation device; and outputting the determination value to the terminal, and the device comprises: a body having a shape corresponding to the shape of the bottom of the foot; multiple stimulation devices provided in the body and spaced apart from each other; a communication device connected to the multiple stimulation devices so as to operate a random stimulation device among the stimulation devices; and a terminal comprising a signal input unit, a control unit for randomly selecting the random stimulation device at the time of inputting of a signal and transmitting the signal to the communication device to derive a value, and an output unit for outputting the value derived by the control unit, whereby due to the configuration, a user can test, by himself/herself, whether a foot ulcer has developed.

摘要: Breast reconstruction and/or mastectomy may be performed to treat or prevent breast cancer or for a variety of other purposes. These procedures can result in disruption of the innervation of the breast, leading to loss of sensation. This loss of sensation can lead to diminishment of sexual function, sexual dysfunction, or other undesired effects. Devices and methods are provided for quantitatively assessing the tactile acuity of the breast at multiple locations. These embodiments can be applied to assess the natural acuity of the breast to design or calibrate an implanted system for restoring perception in the post-reconstruction breast. These embodiments can be also applied to assess the change in the perceptual acuity of the breast due to reconstruction or some other surgical intervention.
