摘要: In an embodiment a sensor device includes a housing having at least a first cavity and a second cavity, at least one light emitter arranged in the first cavity and at least one light detector arranged in the second cavity, wherein each of the cavities has an opening at an underside of the housing so that light from the respective cavity is passable to the outside and/or from the outside into the respective cavity, wherein each of the cavities includes a bottom opposite the underside of the housing and a peripheral side wall extending between the bottom and the underside of the housing, wherein at least one of the cavities is filled with an absorbing material from the bottom to a specified height, and with a transparent material from the specified height to a height of the underside of the housing, and wherein the light detector is arranged on the bottom of the second cavity.

摘要: A pressure-sensing device includes a device frame, a flexible membrane, a pressure sensor, and device electronics. The device frame includes a base surface that rests on a supporting structure and a frame attachment region located opposite to the base surface such that the frame attachment region is raised from the supporting structure when the base surface is resting on the supporting structure. The device frame also includes a seating surface. The flexible membrane is attached to the frame attachment region such that the device frame and the flexible membrane enclose a pressure chamber. The seating surface extends outward around the flexible membrane and the flexible membrane protrudes above the seating surface. The pressure sensor is configured to generate a pressure signal. The device electronics are configured to determine the pressure in the pressure chamber based on the pressure signal.

The dielectric pad includes a composition of TiO2, BaTiO3, or SiC mixed with a solvent to produce a flexible and stretchable pad for MRI use. The flexible and stretchable pad is configured to conform to various body shapes, to be wrap-able, and to be wearable for MR imaging procedures.

摘要: A feeding transition system for transitioning an infant subject to oral feeding includes at least one no-flow nipple and at least one flow nipple. The no-flow nipple has a fully enclosed tip portion such that no fluid can flow directly from the nipple cavity through the nipple wall. The flow nipple is formed of a no-flow nipple having an aperture formed in the tip portion for flowing fluid from the nipple cavity through the nipple wall. The system includes a bolus delivery nipple formed of a no-flow nipple including a bolus delivery conduit disposed in the nipple cavity and in fluid communication with a reservoir of fluid. The bolus delivery conduit includes a conduit outlet attached to the nipple wall to output a bolus of fluid from the tip portion of the bolus delivery nipple via the outlet. A method for transitioning an infant subject to oral feeding is provided.

摘要: A sweat sensing device includes a plurality of sweat collection pads communicating with a sensor. Each of the pads is activated by a timing circuit which allows one or more of the pads to be activated at a selected time and subsequent deactivated after a defined period of time. This allows for selective collection of sweat from a plurality of pads over a prolonged period of time. An impedance measuring circuit can be employed to determine if one or more of the pads becomes disconnected, in order to avoid irritation. Further, the devices can use a common microfluidic device which both transports sweat activating substance, such as pilocarpine, to the surface of the skin and directs sweat away from the skin to a sensing device.
