Abstract:
Embodiments herein describe tools and instruments for holding, transferring, delivering, deploying an implantable device and methods and means of aseptically storing and shipping the implantable device including but not limited to a device case for protecting, housing and filling the device, a surgical sizer for preparing the implantable site, a deployer for transferring the implantable device from the device case and delivering or deploying the implantable device at the prepared implantable site.
Abstract:
A syringe assembly includes (1) a syringe barrel defining a chamber; (2) a plunger mounted in the chamber and moveable with respect to the barrel; and (3) a cap assembly containing a cap and an absorbent material is removably attached to the plunger. A strip package includes at least two cap assemblies. Each of the cap assemblies includes a cap holder and an antiseptic cap positioned in the cap holder. The antiseptic cap includes a sidewall defining a chamber and an antiseptic substance within the chamber. A strip extends over at least two cap assemblies. The strip includes a first seal engaged to the cap holder and a second seal engaged to the antiseptic cap.
Abstract:
A package for a product and method of retaining and releasing a product, where a container body is configured to support the product and includes a key support and a retaining key that is supported by the key support. The retaining key is movable between locked and released configurations, while in the locked configuration the retaining key retains a portion of the product and while in the released configuration the retaining key retracts to facilitate removal of the product from the container body.
Abstract:
A safety apparatus for use in a procedure comprises at least first and second devices, wherein the first device and second device are for use in a medical procedure, the apparatus comprising a disabling mechanism that is adapted to releasably retain and thereby prevent use of the said second device until release by a release procedure using the first device. A method of carrying out a procedure comprises the steps of using the first device, applying the first device to a disabling mechanism to release the second device, and using the second device.
Abstract:
A waste container includes a neck defining an opening through which waste can be inserted into the waste container, and an insert snap-fit into the opening. The insert has an engagement portion engaged with the neck to secure the insert into the opening, and a body portion having a plurality of differently-sized apertures for allowing passage of waste through the insert and into the waste container.
Abstract:
An allergy testing kit contains a plurality of allergy testing applicators, an allergy testing tray and a plurality of allergen bottles each containing an allergen. Each of the applicators contains an elongated handle, a plurality of arms extending from the elongated handle and disposed in an asymmetrical configuration, and a plurality of legs with tines extending from each of the arms. The allergy testing tray contains a main body having an underside and a top surface, a cover for locking with the main body and a plurality of reservoirs extending from the underside of the main body. The reservoirs each have a chamber with an opening extending from the top surface. The reservoirs are disposed in different groups and each group has an asymmetrical configuration matching that of the applicator.

Abstract:
A test-sensor cartridge comprising a plurality of test sensors adapted to assist in determining an analyte concentration of a fluid sample. The cartridge further comprises a plurality of walls forming a cavity therein. The cavity is adapted to include the plurality of test sensors. At least one of the plurality of walls forms at least one aperture. The cartridge further comprises a lid adapted to enclose the cavity. The cartridge further comprises a locking feature adapted to lock the lid to one or more of the walls. The locking feature is adapted to be disengaged by the at least one aperture receiving a projection of an analyte-testing instrument.
