Abstract: A kneeling support device is disclosed that attaches to a user's leg and extends from the knees down to the instep of the foot to help reduce the amount of pressure on the feet and toes of a user while kneeling. The device comprises a base component that is configured in a curved contour that wraps around the front of a user's leg and foot via hook and loop fasteners. The curved contour of the base component creates a recess on the inner surface of the base component, which contours to a user's leg. The outer surface of the base component comprises at least one padding layer to cushion a user's knees and shins while kneeling. The end of the base component near the foot comprises a cutout component that curves around a user's foot to provide comfort and support to the toes and feet while kneeling.

Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for manufacturing a framework for a padded cushion in the shape of a kneeler pad, wherein the framework is created using a thermoforming process to make rigid and plastic top and bottom shells that are then coupled together to form a framework to which upholstery is added to thereby form a padded kneeling cushion, wherein a fabric tightening system is also installed in the framework that enables the upholstery to be stretched tighter over the framework in order to tighten the upholstery around the cushion as the upholstery loses its shape and stretches over time, and wherein a system is provided to extend a length of the kneeler pads through the addition of expansion segments in the framework.

Abstract: A system for passively slowing a descent rate of a load includes a rope having a fixed end and an opposing free end below the fixed end, a descent device having a base plate with first and second opposing plate ends, first and second pins fixedly mounted to the base plate, the first pin located at the first opposing plate end, and a carabiner attachment portion located at the second opposing plate end. A carabiner is attached to the carabiner attachment portion of the descent device, and a load attached to the carabiner. The system disposes a rope within the descent device about the first and second pin in serpentine manner, with the free end of the rope balanced against the load by the device disposed between the load and the free end, and the rope contacting first and second non-rotatable rope-contacting surfaces of the first and second pins, respectively.

Abstract: An ergonomic worker support system. There is provided an apparatus for ergonomically supporting a user in any of a variety of positions while working. The stand apparatus includes a base from which an upright stem extends to an extension of stems fitting, which fitting in turn supports an upper torso support member. A stem extender piece may be provided between the upright stem and the upper torso support member. These various components are adjustable relative to one another to permit versatility in apparatus configuration. Convenience features are disclosed for reducing stress and supporting either the upper or lower portion of a user's body. The apparatus includes features that reduce stress, conserve energy, and facilitate increased work productivity of physically challenged persons as well able-bodied users. The ergonomic stand, in operational position, provides a sturdy, balanced, adjustable, and ergonomic platform for the support of the worker, appliances and tools.

Abstract: A wearable kneel-sit support device includes a U-shaped body that is pivotally connected to both a seat member and a base member. A linking member connects the seat member and the base member, such that moving one of the seat member and the base member causes both the seat member and the base member to rotate from a folded position adjacent the leg of the user to an unfolded position. In the unfolded position, the base member can rest on a horizontal surface and the seat member is substantially parallel to the base member, so that the wearer can sit on the seat while kneeling. The device may be worn on the lower leg of a user in a folded position to allow unhindered ambulation.
