Abstract:
An apparatus/method of cleaning a roaster bowl having a pouring lip and a cover (e.g., sugar or other coating is adhered to the bowl, its pouring lip and the cover). Water is added to the roaster bowl and the cover is placed over the roaster bowl. An appropriately sized and located steam vent is disposed between the cover and roaster bowl, adjacent to the bowl's pouring lip. The roaster bowl is heated to boil the water to produce steam that dissolves the sugar adhered to the roaster bowl and to the underside of the cover. Steam exiting the bowl via the vent condenses on the pouring lip to dissolve the sugar that is adhered to the pouring lip, and the sugar-laden steam drips back into the bowl thus cleaning the pouring lip.
Abstract:
An apparatus having a skewer preparation tray with individual cube sections for placing food items and an easy process of securing the food items to a skewer enabling a user to simultaneously safely prepare several skewers for grilling with minimal waste through dropping food-items and eliminating the dripping of marinade. The cube sections are created via coupling a plurality of horizontal-dividers with a plurality of vertical-dividers.
Abstract:
An apparatus, a loop burner element, and a method for surface-roasting a food product wherein the roasting apparatus comprises (a) a conveyor which carries the food product and (b) at least one non-linear ribbon flame burner element or element assembly which preferably applies a ribbon flame to at least the upper and side surfaces of the food product as it is conducted through the roasting apparatus.
Abstract:
A package for holding a food product. The package comprises a tray comprising a plurality of tray panels that extend at least partially around an interior of the tray. The plurality of tray panels comprise a tray central panel and at least one tray side panel foldably connected to the tray central panel. The package also comprises a lid comprising a plurality of lid panels that extend at least partially around an interior of the lid. The plurality of lid panels comprise a lid central panel and at least one lid side panel foldably connected to the lid central panel. The lid cooperates with the tray to at least partially close the package when the package is configured in a closed position and a venting position. Venting features are operable to vent the package when the package is configured in the venting position.
Abstract:
An apparatus for treating food, the apparatus includes a housing having a lid, a base and a cavity defined therein. The cavity is separated into an upper chamber and lower chamber by a divider. Upper chamber is for holding food placed upon the divider. One or more steam sources provide steam to the upper and lower chambers. One or more infrared sources are position within the upper and lower chambers to directly heat the steam, the food or the divider. A pressure-controlled environment may be provided in the upper chamber. Uniformity and increased speed of heating the food is facilitated by direct heat transfer in the upper chamber and by indirect heat transfer from the conduction of heat through the divider from the lower chamber.
Abstract:
A method for processing vegetables to reduce unpleasant odor and/or taste, and/or to minimize discoloration, deterioration, degradation, or rot over a period of storage time is described. The method includes: subjecting the vegetable to mechanical size reduction; heating or freezing the vegetable for a pre-determined period; and bringing the softened vegetable product into contact with one or more reactive oxygen species selected from: peroxides; superoxides; and ozone.
Abstract:
A method for preparing an ingestible cannabis composition is provided. Also provided is the ingestible cannabis composition and a kit including the ingestible cannabis composition.
Abstract:
A package for holding a food product. The package comprises a carton comprising a plurality of panels that extend at least partially around an interior of the carton. The plurality of panels comprises at least two side panels. A tear feature extends at least partially across the plurality of panels for at least partially separating the carton into an upper portion and a lower portion. The package also comprises a liner disposed in the interior of the carton. The liner comprises an expandable region proximate to the tear feature of the carton.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for applying laser energy to a food product to effect cooking thereof. The energy can be applied with a laser emitter in proximity to the food product. The application of the energy can be controlled according to a profile so as to generate a plasma in and around the food product during a cooking period. The application of energy can be adjusted based on feedback associated with the controlled application of the energy to the food product.
Abstract:
A cooking aid and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. The cooking aid includes a piece of foil for wrapping around a turkey or other fowl or food to serve as a cooking blanket to retain heat and moisture, and also serve as a lifter for lifting the fowl out of a roasting pan. The foil typically includes one or more pleated sections having panels folded along longitudinal folds which may be unfolded to expand the piece of foil. The foil may include left and right pleated sections with a central section of the foil therebetween. Drain holes are typically formed in the central section, which may also be embossed with logos or the like. Axial sections of the foil may be folded at an axial fold to overlay one another. Portions of the foil may be formed into rolled handles to help lift the fowl.
