The present invention relates to a substance emitting product comprising a combustible structural element incorporated with a pesticide and/or fragrance wherein the combustible structural element is a coil shaped cardboard strip characterized in that the combustible structural element is a made from palm fibres. The palm fibres are obtained from oil palm empty fruit bunches and/or oil palm mesocarp. The combustible structural element is made from up to 90-99.5 wt % of the palm fibres with other minor ingredients, selected from the group comprising fillers, combustion regulators, dyes and fungicide or a mixture thereof, making up the balance. The combustible structural element has a density ranging from 400-1000 kgm−3, preferably ranging from 600-750 kgm−3.

In this manner, volatile components can be controllably released to the surrounding environment. The volatile components can be, for example, a perfume, a fragrance, an insect repellent, a fumigant, a disinfectant, a bactericide, an insecticide, a pesticide, a germicide, an acaricide, a sterilizer, a deodorizer, a fogging agent and mixtures of these. A candle is formed from a heated mixture of liquid wax, an animal attracting scent, and a scent retention additive. A wire core wick imbedded in the candle mixture is lighted to give off the animal attracting scent into the air. A container shields the candle from the wind, but lets the scent out a top opening. The candle may be formed in an aluminum container and the container used as the candle holder and wind guard while burning the candle. A chimney may be constructed from a fiberboard bend to form panels with bottom flaps forming a tie down base to put over the candle while burning.

According to the invention, the aforementioned smoke base comprises at least one oxidising agent, one reducing agent and one mineral filler. The mineral filler represents at least 25% of the weight of the base while the reducing agent represents at most 16% of the weight thereof, and the weight ratio of oxidising agent to reducing agent is at least 3/1.

The present invention provides an insect control coil that disperses an initial burst or quick release of a high concentration of insect active ingredient into the environment to provide a fast acting initial dose together with a sensory cue indicative of the release of the active substance. In order to accomplish this, the insect control coil includes a spiral-shaped body composed of a burnable material and having an insect control active substance as an ingredient thereof, a coating on the spiral-shaped body which contains an auxiliary amount of an insect control active substance which provides an auxiliary burst of active substance when burnt, and at least one of either the body or the coating further including a sensory cue indicative of the release of the reactive substance from the coating. The coating may be formed on the tip end of the body, or alternately, may be formed intermittently along the length of the body of the coil.

The first matrix comprises a thermoplastic material, and the second matrix comprises a thermoplastic material which additionally comprises an active ingredient.
