Abstract: Shock-resistant adhesive compounds and methods are provided and comprise a) at least about 50% by weight, based on a total weight of the pressure sensitive adhesive, of at least one poly(meth)acrylate, b) about 15-35% by weight, based on the total weight of the pressure sensitive adhesive, of a synthetic rubber component comprising at least one vinylaromatic-butadiene block copolymer and at least one vinylaromatic-isoprene block copolymer, and c) at least one tackifying resin compatible with the synthetic rubber component, wherein a weight ratio of vinylaromatic-butadiene block copolymer(s): vinylaromatic-isoprene block copolymer(s) is about 1.1:1 to about 2.5:1. The methods bond one or more components of at least one portable device with the shock-resistant adhesive compounds.

The optically transparent adhesive compound is for bonding displays, holographic optical elements, lenses and glasses, including: 80 to 100% by weight of at least one (meth)acrylate-containing copolymer A, the copolymer A composed of 15 to 95% by weight of linear alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, wherein the number of carbon atoms of the alkyl radicals of the linear alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers is 6 to 10, and 5 to 30% by weight of hydroxy group-containing (meth)acrylate monomers. Further, the adhesive compound has a haze value of less than 5% and a transmission at 400 nm to 800 nm of more than 90%, each measured according to ASTM D1003-13.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tin-free, room temperature curable silicone elastomer composition, wherein the uncured composition is a putty. The silicone elastomer composition comprises a) an end-capped base polymer, wherein the base polymer comprises a polysiloxane or mixture of polysiloxanes, and wherein the end-capped base polymer comprises terminal di-(C1-4)alkoxy silyl groups; b) at least one amorphous filler; c) 15.1 to 60 parts by weight of at least one spherical filler for each 100 parts by weight of base polymer; and d) a curing catalyst consisting of one or more selected from the group consisting of organic titanates and organic zirconates. The terminal dialkoxy silyl groups of the base polymer can be dimethoxy silyl groups. The at least one amorphous filler can be selected from the group consisting of fumed silica, fumed alumina, carbon black, precipitated silica, precipitated calcium carbonate, surface-treated calcium carbonate and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A repulpable pressure-sensitive adhesive useful on polar and apolar papers and storage-stable comprises a polymer whose parent monomer composition comprises:
a) 10 to 30 wt % of at least one compound of the formula (I)

wherein R1 is an unsubstituted alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group or an acetonyl radical and R2 is a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an acetonyl radical or an aminoalkyl group;
b) 60 to 80 wt % of at least one compound of the formula (II)
CH2═CH—C(O)O—(CH2)2—O—R3 (II),
wherein R3 is an unsubstituted alkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group or a (polyalkoxy)alkyl group; and
c) 0.5 to 10 wt % of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and (C2-C4 hydroxyalkyl) acrylates.
Also disclosed is an adhesive tape comprising the pressure-sensitive adhesive, and use of the pressure-sensitive adhesive and/or the adhesive tape for producing water-soluble bonds.-

Abstract: A method is provided for sealing discontinuities in vehicle bodywork, using an at least two-layer adhesive product which comprises at least one thermally activatable adhesive layer and a film layer of a polymeric material, where first the adhesive product is positioned with the adhesive layer onto the discontinuity for sealing, the adhesive layer sealingly wets the discontinuity, optionally after temperature increase, at elevated temperature the thermal activation of the adhesive ensues, characterized in that the adhesive layer used comprises a layer of a thermally activatable adhesive, specifically a layer based on a vulcanizable adhesive, and the thermal activation takes place with vulcanization of the adhesive.

Abstract: An acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive was to be provided that finds use especially in a reversible adhesive tape that is redetachable without leaving any residue, the adhesive tape having a particularly flat paper backing with high air permeability, and thus gives rise to particularly precise and flat paint edges when applied. This is achieved by an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive based on polymers having the following monomer composition:
(a) 97% to 99% by weight of monomers from the group comprising 2-ethylhexyl acrylate or 2-octyl acrylate or n-heptyl acrylate or mixtures of at least two of said monomers,
(b) 1% to 3% by weight of (meth)acrylic acid
and further comprising a crosslinking system, wherein the ratio of the reactive crosslinking groups and the carboxy groups of (meth)acrylic acid (b) is less than or equal to 7% and wherein the polymers are produced by emulsion polymerization.
The invention also provides an adhesive tape comprising a backing and—applied to at least one side of the backing—an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive of the invention in the form of a dried polymer dispersion and also the use of such an adhesive tape.-
