摘要: An automatic rope tension equalizer system includes first, second, and third plungers, first, second, and third cam assemblies, and a hitch plate with first, second, and third cavities. The first, second, and third plungers are at least partially situated in the first, second, and third cavities, respectively. Each cam assembly has a cam and a rod extending therefrom. The cam of the first cam assembly engages the first plunger, the cam of the second cam assembly engages the second plunger, and the cam of the third cam assembly engages the third plunger. A network connects each cavity to each other cavity, and fluid in the network automatically equalizes pressure on the first, second, and third plungers, thereby affecting positioning of the first, second, and third plungers and, through each cam, tension on each rod.

摘要: A hydraulic elevator system is operable to selectively raise and lower an elevator car. The system raises and lowers the elevator car by actuating a hydraulic jack. The system retracts a hydraulic jack that is fixed to an upper portion of the hoistway by pressurizing hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic jack via a hydraulic fluid pump. When retracting the hydraulic jack the elevator car travels upward. An accumulator usable with the system is operable to store energy during the downward travel of the elevator car for later use during the upward travel of the elevator car.

摘要: An elevator lantern apparatus uses a snap-fit assembly and disassembly configuration where the lantern apparatus includes components such as a tray, a lens, and a control board having one or more illuminating features. These components are configured to assemble through an opening in a surface such as a wall. In some versions, assembly and disassembly is done without the use of tools. In some versions, disassembly of the lantern apparatus is done from the front side of the lantern apparatus by removing the lens to access other components.

摘要: An elevator car control system and method of operation determines occupancy weight based upon motor load. Information on motor load is collected during ascent and descent with loaded and unloaded elevator cars and used to create estimates of occupancy weight based for the full range of motor loads throughout travel within the hoistway. Once the estimates are available the approximate occupancy weight can be determined after each floor stop and appropriate action can be taken. One action is Load Bypass which prevents the elevator car from stopping to load more passengers until occupancy weight decreases. Another action is Nuisance Detection which clears all internal floor calls when occupancy weight indicates no passengers are present. Another action is Load Dispatch which prioritizes a floor for pickup based on demand.

摘要: An elevator moves through a hoistway with one or more sensors positioned so that they pass by one or more targets that are in fixed positions relative to the hoistway. As they pass, an inductive current is generated, giving the elevator's control circuitry precise information as to the vertical position of the elevator car. The control system adjusts the raising and/or lowering of the elevator car based on that position information and any discrepancy between it and the supposed position at which the control system had believed the car was. Discrepancies are accumulated over time as an indication of cable stretch, and when the stretch exceeds a particular threshold, an alarm is raised for maintenance. The control system also defines a “door zone” around each landing where, based on the precise height measurement achieved herein, it is safe under the circumstances to open the doors of the car.

摘要: An elevator cab generally comprises a platform and a series of wall panels that make up the cab walls. A fastening assembly, used to connect the wall panels with the platform, comprises a stud and a retainer clip. The stud is connected to the wall panels and the retainer clip is connected with the platform. Furthermore, the stud and retainer clip engage without the use of tools in a manner that securely fastens the wall panels to the platform to thereby construct portions of the elevator cab.

摘要: An elevator positioning system includes an optical tape, optical tape clips, and a sensor. The optical tape clips are mountable to various structures within the hoistway. A crossbar of the optical tape clips is located between a sensor and optical tape such that the sensor detects an interruption in the optical tape and signals the detection to an elevator controller. The elevator car can then be controlled to align evenly with the landings associated with the hoistway. Another elevator positioning system includes a sensor and a reflector clip assembly. The reflector clip assemblies are mountable to various structures within the hoistway. A reflector target of the reflector clip assemblies faces the sensor such that the sensor detects the reflector target and signals the detection to an elevator controller. The elevator car can then be controlled to align evenly with the landings associated with the hoistway.

摘要: A hydraulic elevator may comprise a bidirectional pump that controls up and down motion of an elevator car. A VVVF drive may cause the bidirectional pump to provide working fluid in a controlled manner to a hydraulic jack that supports the elevator car. A control valve may be disposed between the bidirectional pump and the hydraulic jack so that the control valve can be closed when the elevator car needs to be held in place. To avoid pressure waves that propagate when the control valve is opened with disparate pressures on the pump and jack sides of the control valve, the bidirectional pump may adjust the pressure on the pump side of the closed control valve to the pressure on the jack side of the control valve before the control valve is opened.

摘要: Climber motors are a form of temporary winch that can be used before a permanent elevator drive system is installed at the top of a hoistway. A mount to be employed with such a climber motor may include a frame having a base, a lower portion, and an upper portion. The upper portion may support a lower plate, which lower plate supports sleeves, which sleeves in turn support an upper plate. The frame and the climber motor may be positioned within an elevator cab such that the sleeves extend upwards through apertures in a canopy of the elevator cab. Once the upper plate is positioned between the sleeves and a crosshead above the elevator cab, the climber motor may be engaged to cause the sleeves to exert an upward force on the crosshead and thereby lift the elevator cab in the hoistway.
