摘要： The present disclosure provides a valve for controlling the flow of abrasive particles along a predetermined path from the outlet of a hopper to a conveying line in a particle collection or transportation system. The design of the valve reduces the occurrence of erosive wear resulting from contact with the flow of abrasive particles. A method of making the valve that enhances the hardness of localized areas in the valve that are subject to high wear conditions is also disclosed.

摘要： A sootblower is provided having a multidirectional cleaning range for directing a cleaning medium against heated surfaces in a heat exchanger. The sootblower includes a rotatable lance tube that is selectively advanced and withdrawn along a longitudinal axis from an interior volume of the heat exchanger. The lance tube includes an articulating wrist coupled to a nozzle for projecting the cleaning medium in multi-directions onto the heated surfaces when the lance tube is advanced into the heat exchanger. The nozzle is pivotable about the longitudinal axis and about a second axis transverse to the longitudinal axis.

摘要： A poppet valve for use with a sootblower for removing debris from an interior volume of a boiler is provided. The poppet valve assembly includes a valve housing and a valve head configured to move within the valve housing between an open position and a closed position. The poppet valve assembly enables the cleaning fluid to undergo relatively small pressure loss as it flows through the poppet valve assembly when the valve head is in the open position. More specifically, the poppet valve assembly has a loss factor that is substantially less than currently-known valves. The poppet valve causes the cleaning fluid to undergo relatively small pressure loss while flowing therethrough.

摘要： A cleaning apparatus for cleaning a smelt spout of a boiler is provided. The boiler includes a boiler wall defining an outlet port for discharging molten smelt and the smelt spout is positioned with respect to the outlet port so that the molten smelt is able to flow along the smelt spout. The cleaning apparatus includes a cleaning tool having a pair of cleaning blades generally aligned with respective side walls of the smelt spout and an actuating assembly configured to move the cleaning blades from a first position to a second position. The cleaning blades each engage the respective side walls of the smelt spout to dislodge hardened smelt deposits therefrom when in the cleaning blades are in the second position.

摘要： The present invention provides a system and method for controlling a retractable sootblower having a frame, a movable carriage, a limit switch mounted on the movable carriage, a first switch control device, and a second switch control device. The frame supports the movable carriage, allowing the movable carriage to move between an extended and retracted position. The limit switch is mounted on the carriage and configured to sense both the first switch control device and the second switch control device. The first switch control device is positioned such that the limit switch will sense the first switch control device when the carriage is in the extended position. The second switch control device is positioned such that the limit switch will sense the second switch control device when the carriage is in the retracted position. The sootblower also includes a motor for driving the movable carriage between the extended and retracted positions, and a controller electrically coupled to the limit switch and configured to reverse the motor travel in response to the limit switch sensing the first switch control device.

The valve further includes a chamber in the valve body between the first port and the second ports, wherein, as measured in planes that is sized to substantially reduce the velocity of fluid flowing between the first and second ports.
