摘要: A system is provided which includes a cannula and a secondary device. The cannula includes an expandable member, a cannula lumen, and a cannula proximal end. The expandable member includes a proximal most end, a distal most end, at least two movable sections, with the space between the at least two moveable sections, and an impermeable membrane extending across the space between each of the at least two moveable sections. In addition, the impermeable membrane extends from the expandable member distal most end to the expandable member proximal most end. The secondary device is configured to be coaxially placed through the cannula lumen. The cannula proximal end is configured to operatively couple to a vacuum source configured to create a negative pressure to pull an undesirable material into the cannula lumen.

摘要: A system for synchronizing application of treatment signals with a cardiac rhythm is provided. The system includes a memory that receives and stores a synchronization signal indicating that a predetermined phase such as R-wave of a cardiac rhythm of a patient has started. A synchronization module analyzes whether the stored synchronization signal is erroneous and if so, prevents a medical treatment device from applying a treatment energy signal such as an IRE pulse to a patient to take into account an irregular heart beat and noise in the synchronization signal in order to maximize safety of the patient,

摘要: An improved user interface system for an irreversible electroporation (ORE) system is provided. User interfaces are provided that dynamically display information provided by an operator or provided by the IRE system during setup, planning, and implementation stages of an IRE procedure in a more intuitive and efficient manner. As a result of being provided the user interfaces described herein, operators can plan and implement more effective IRE procedures to the benefit of a patient.

摘要: An energy delivery probe and method of using the energy delivery probe to treat a patient is provided herein. The energy delivery probe has at least one probe body having a longitudinal axis and at least a first trocar and a second trocar. Each trocar comprises at least two electrodes that are electrically insulated from each other, and each electrode is independently selectively activatable. An insulative sleeve is positioned in a coaxially surrounding relationship to each of the first trocar and the second trocar. The probe also has a switching means for independently activating at least one electrode. The method involves independently and selectively activating the first and second electrodes to form an ablation zone, then repeating the ablation by delivering energy to a second set of electrodes, producing one or more overlapping ablation zone, and eliminating the need to reposition the ablation probes.

摘要: A system for preparing an ablation procedure is disclosed. The system comprises a generator for generating electrical pulses, a plurality of probes for delivering the electrical pulses to a target tissue, one or more sensors for indicating a position of the probes, a display device, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive an image of the target tissue, obtain a planned probe arrangement for the plurality of probes, identify a projected position for an origin probe based on the image and the planned probe arrangement, and determine a real-time position of the origin probe based on signals from the sensors. The processor is further configured to display the projected position and the real-time position for the origin probe superimposed over the image on a display device, and determine a placed position of the origin probe based on the real-time position.

摘要: A valve for controlling material flow through a catheter, comprises a first flexible member including a first moveable element, wherein, when the first moveable element is in the open position, material may flow past the first flexible member through a first lumen of the catheter and, when the first moveable element is in the closed position, flow through the first lumen is prevented and a first biasing member coupled to the first flexible member for biasing the first moveable member toward the closed position.

摘要: A medical device comprises a flexible member that can be adhesively attached to a housing of the medical device, allowing implantation of the medical device into a body through an incision of reduced size. The flexible member can be attached to the housing either before or after implantation into the body. The flexible member comprises suture locations, including a permeable membrane or a suture hole, for suturing the medical device to tissue of the body. The suture holes can be filled with a substance penetrable by a suture needle, to minimize tissue ingrowth before or after suturing.
