摘要: The present invention provides a platform for supporting various equipment and/or structure which assists in isolating such structure from vibrations (“noise”) external to the platform. Generally, the platform comprises upper and lower plates, having conical depressions, upon which the upper plate supports the abovementioned structure, and the lower plate contacting surface/area upon which the supported structure otherwise would have rested. Between the upper and lower plates, a plurality of rigid, spherical bearings are placed within the conical depressions, thereby allowing the upper and lower plates to displace relative to one another. Additionally, the platform may be provided with retaining mechanisms for holding the structure to be supported, maintaining the plates together and providing additional damping effects.

摘要: A vibration attenuation device comprises a first section and a second section, each section comprising an insulating material such as rubber. The first section and the second section are aligned end-to-end. Typically, the insulating material is cylindrically-shaped to provide for easy alignment between the two sections. The base of a U-shaped first anchor is substantially surrounded by the insulating material of the first section. The base of a U-shaped second anchor is substantially surrounded by the insulating material of the second section. The legs of the first anchor extend from the base of the first anchor to beyond the base of the second anchor and the legs of the second anchor extend from the base of the second anchor to beyond the base of the first anchor. Additional sections comprising insulating material and anchors may be added to provide more flexibility.

摘要: Shock-absorbers used as wheel-spokes between wheel-hub and rigid rim, which may be lined with threaded rubber or having gripping features otherwise. It reduces rolling resistance, saving fuel. It improves drivability. The compliance of the shocks is commensurate with that of a comparable inflated tire, but optimized passively or actively circumferentially, vertically and laterally. Rubber-bushing or spoke-inclination enhances driving stability. Giant field assembled mining-truck-wheels may be produced and deployed and field-assembled quickly by common metalworking shops at fractional cost and weight. It is environmentally friendly, for hardly using or not using rubber. The gas or liquid of the shock spokes may be interconnected and cooled. Soft and hard driving may be controlled manually or by computer on the fly. It is suitable for applications ranging from bicycle wheels to aircraft landing gears. It is fireproof, bulletproof, airless and silent. It cannot bounce or skid at jumpstart or braking and on ice.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes first and second cylinder assemblies each to repeatedly carry out combustion cycle including intake, compression, combustion with expansion, and exhaust processes. In a surcharging system of the invention, the first cylinder assembly is coupled to the second cylinder assembly in gaseous communication to apply a charge of exhaust gas produced from a first combustion cycle of the first cylinder assembly to a compression process of a second combustion cycle of the second cylinder assembly. In a supraignition system of the invention, the first cylinder assembly is coupled to the second cylinder assembly in gaseous communication to apply a charge of ignition gas produced from a first combustion cycle of the first cylinder assembly to a compression process of a second combustion cycle of the second cylinder assembly. Buffer vessels coupled in gaseous communication with corresponding cylinder assemblies are also used in surcharging and supraignition processes.

摘要: A seismic isolation bearing for structures consisting a steel ball sandwiched between two horizontal, steel load plates. The load plates have a shallow, concave, conical recess of vertical, collinear axis. The cone axis passes through the ball centerline at rest. The load plates are bolted the structure under and above. Gravity restores the bearing's displacement in the lack of external forces. Lateral bearing forces are independent of displacements.

摘要: A structural shock isolation system that may be used in building structure, or in other applications requiring load supporting elements is disclosed. The shock isolation elements of the system are divided into a plurality of parts that are keyed together with the respective parts separated by an elastomeric material. Each individual element of the structural system, while performing its load bearing function, provides shock and vibration isolation; further, since the parts of each element are keyed, the parts act as a whole in each structure to provide the required design strength for the system. The structural shock isolation system may be used in building structures as part of the superstructure of the building.
