Abstract: The present disclosure provides a shoulder prosthesis. The shoulder prosthesis includes a glenoid component, a humeral component, and an articulation component. The glenoid component includes a glenoid body having a proximal side and a distal side, the distal side shaped to engage with a resected portion of a glenoid cavity. The humeral component includes a humeral body having a proximal side and a distal side, the distal side shaped to engage with a resected portion of a humerus. The articulation component is positionable between the proximal side of the glenoid component and the proximal side of the humeral component, the articulation component configured to be maintained between the glenoid and humeral components, after implantation, by at least one of a deltoid muscle and a rotator cuff.

Abstract: The disclosure includes methods and systems for making orthopedic connections where there is unique adjustability to the connection. Illustratively, one embodiment provides a connecting assembly for connecting a plurality of orthopedic components. Such connecting assemblies can include a first orthopedic component that provides a female bore. Additionally the assembly can include a second orthopedic component that can be or include a male-type connecting member that is positionable in the bore of the first orthopedic component. In one preferred form, the male-type connecting member will be a quasi-spherical member. The quasi-spherical member can include a textured outer surface, e.g., for contacting one or more walls or surfaces in the bore in a fashion that removeably locks or helps to removeably lock or fix the quasi-spherical member in the bore.

Abstract: A shoulder replacement system including a humeral head having a curved exterior surface and a generally planar exterior surface. The humeral head can define a main body axis extending transversely from the generally planar exterior surface to the curved exterior surface. The humeral head can also include a polar axis extending parallel to the planar exterior surface from an outer edge of the humeral head intersecting the main body axis and an equatorial axis extending parallel to the planar exterior surface from the outer edge of the humeral head intersecting the main body axis and the polar axis. The shoulder replacement system can also include a humeral stem insertable into a humerus and a glenoid implant that can be engaged to bone defining a glenoid cavity and defining an articulating surface.

Abstract: An instrument can comprise an instrument body, a cross-pin, and a ring. The instrument body can be configured to be partially inserted into an intramedullary canal of a bone having a bone resection. The cross-pin can extend through the instrument body, and the ring can be movably coupled to the cross-pin and positionable on the bone resection. The ring can be configured to pivot about a longitudinal axis of the cross-pin such that an angle of the ring relative to the instrument body approximates a surface angle of the bone resection relative to the instrument body.
