    摘要: A wearable medical device includes a waterproof harness, a plurality of ECG sensing electrodes configured to detect a patient's ECG, and a plurality of therapy electrodes configured to provide at least one biphasic shock to the patient. The device includes a control unit in electronic communication with the ECG sensing electrodes and therapy electrodes and configured to monitor the sensed ECG and, in response to detecting a cardiac arrhythmia, provide the biphasic shock(s). The control unit is comprised within a waterproof case. The device includes a water-resistant or waterproof connection pod that is configured to electrically couple the ECG sensing electrodes, therapy electrodes, and control unit. The connection pod provides the sensed ECG signal to the control unit and the biphasic shock current to the therapy electrodes. The device includes a user interface device in electronic communication with the control unit that includes at least one patient responsiveness button.

    摘要: A medical device includes at least one electrode to sense an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal of a patient, and a controller coupled to the at least one electrode. The controller is configured to generate a first ECG template based on a first ECG signal of the patient received during a first baselining operation. The controller is configured to determine that the patient has been administered a therapeutic shock, and responsive to the determination that the patient has been administered the therapeutic shock, the controller is configured to initiate a second baselining operation and generate a second ECG template based on a second ECG signal of the patient received during the second baselining operation. The controller is configured to determine whether the patient is experiencing a cardiac event based on a comparison of the second ECG template to a real time ECG signal received during real time monitoring of the patient.

    摘要: A remote alarm for use with a wearable medical device. The remote alarm is configured to receive alarms, voice messages and prompts issued by the wearable medical device and to repeat those alarms, voice messages and prompts in a manner that can more easily be perceived by a patient wearing the wearable medical device or a bystander. The remote alarm can be configured to receive a communication from the wearable medical device, and in response, to identify one or more messages to be provided to the patient or a bystander. The messages may be provided audibly, visually, tactilely or combinations thereof. The remote alarm may further be configured to take certain actions depending upon the content of the communication, such as sending a telephone message to alert emergency personnel to the identity, location and medical condition of the patient, or sending an email.

    摘要: A system for configuring an ambulatory medical device includes an ambulatory medical device configured to monitor at least one electrocardiogram signal received from a patient for an occurrence of one or more cardiac events. The system also includes a remote computing device configured to receive a set of threshold values related to operation of the ambulatory medical device. The threshold values identify one or more conditions indicative of an occurrence of one or more cardiac events. The remote computing device is configured to query a master lookup table to determine a lookup code associated with the received set of threshold values, establish a communication link with the ambulatory medical device, receive an activation notification indicating that the ambulatory medical device has been activated, and encode a key. The encoded key includes the lookup code. The remote computing device is configured to transmit the encoded key to the ambulatory medical device.

    摘要: System and methods for providing a patient with arrhythmia treatment are described. For example, a system includes an arrhythmia monitoring and treatment assembly configured to be worn on the torso of the patient. The assembly has a housing discreetly extending from a skin surface of the patient. The assembly is configured to provide therapy on detecting one or more arrhythmia conditions of the patient. A first at least one user response button is disposed on the assembly at a first location on the torso concealed under clothing, and a second at least one user response button is configured to be worn on a second location of the patient's body, a location other than the torso that is accessible to the patient. The system suspends an impending therapy upon receiving a user input from either one of the first or second at least one user response buttons.

    摘要: A remote communications system for providing enhanced communication with cardiac devices includes a wearable defibrillator disposed on a torso of a patient and a remote device. The wearable defibrillator includes one or more buttons configured to be actuated by the patient to indicate that the patient is conscious, a speaker configured to communicate information to the patient, a wearable defibrillator transceiver configured to transmit the information, and a processor in communication with the speaker and the wearable defibrillator transceiver. The remote device includes a wireless transceiver for bi-directional communication configured to receive the information from the wearable defibrillator, at least one of a touch screen and a speaker, and a processor configured to cause the remote device to provide via the at least one of the touch screen and the speaker at least one of an alarm, voice message, and prompt based on the received information.
