Abstract:
Disclosed is an adjustment apparatus for adjusting an optical pickup capable of recording and/or reproducing plural optical discs of different sorts. The adjustment apparatus is an optical disc for adjustment (1) having a first signal recording layer (5) having a physical format in common with a CD and a second signal recording layer (7) having a physical format in common with a DVD. On the first and second signal recording layers, there are concentrically recorded EFM modulated data. The respective signal recording layers are provided with recording areas (8), (9) not overlapped with each other.

Abstract:
The present invention concerns an optical disc for adjusting an optical pickup used for adjusting a pair of optical pickups capable of recording and reproducing a double-sided type optical disc. The optical disc for adjusting the optical pickups comprises: a first signal recording part (5) that is irradiated with a laser beam from one surface side; and a second signal recording part (7) that is irradiated with the laser beam from the other surface side to record data so that a scanning direction by the laser beam is opposite to that of the first signal recording part (5).
Abstract:
An optical pickup device for recording and/or reproducing the information on or from an optical disc. The optical pickup device includes a cover plate for covering said through-hole of said lid when said optical pickup unit is moved by said optical pickup feed unit until the objective lens is located outwardly of the optical disc loaded on said disc rotating driving unit; an abutting portion provided on one of said lid and the cover plate, said abutting portion causing movement of said cover plate in a direction away from the objective lens when said optical pickup unit is moved by said optical pickup feed unit so that said objective lens is positioned outwardly of said optical disc; and an engagement portion provided on the other of said lid and the cover plate, said engagement portion engaging with said abutting portion when, after said cover plate is moved by said abutting portion in a direction away from the objective lens, the optical pickup unit is further moved to outwardly of the optical disc by said optical pickup unit. The optical pickup unit is held in stability on an outer rim side of the optical disc, whilst it is possible to prevent dust and dirt from being intruded inti its inside.

Abstract:
A universal joint includes a yoke having a fitting portion for fitting a shaft. The fitting portion has first and second tabs opposed to each other to form a U shape. A fixing mechanism including a bolt passing through respective insertion holes in the first and second tabs and a nut screwed onto the bolt on a fastening axis fastens and fixes the shaft between the first and second tabs. A nut holding member fixed to the second tab has an engaging piece. The engaging piece causes the nut, which has not been screwed onto the bolt, to be held on the fastening axis. A cover held by the nut holding member covers at least the engaging piece around the nut.
Abstract:
A defect information storing device includes two tables for storing information on defective points of a semiconductor device. The first table stores column addresses and number of defective points existing at this column address for (r×c+c) lines. The second table stores row addresses, number of defective points existing at this row address, and column identifiers indicating the storage place of the column address of the defective point in the first table for (r×c+r) lines.
