Abstract:
A hydraulic system, wherein an actuating cylinder and an accelerating cylinder each includes a piston, a rod, and a tube. When the rod of the actuating cylinder extends in an unloaded condition, a circuit is configured such that oil discharged from the bottom-side section of the accelerating cylinder is supplied to the bottom-side section of the actuating cylinder through a bottom line. When the rod of the actuating cylinder extends in a loaded condition, a circuit is configured such that oil supplied to the bottom line without passing through the accelerating cylinder is supplied to the bottom-side section of the actuating cylinder. The circuit for the unloaded condition and the circuit for the loaded condition is switched based on a pressure sensing in the bottom line.
Abstract:
A set of images is acquired of a scene by a camera. The scene includes a moving object, and a relative difference of a motion of the camera and a motion of the object is substantially zero. Statistical properties of pixels in the images are determined, and a statistical method is applied to the statistical properties to identify pixels corresponding to the object.
Abstract:
One of a backup apparatus and a storage system performs control to store backup data in a storage system which belongs to an organization and/or location different from an organization and/or location to which a storage-target storage system for original data belongs, based on information (P) and/or (Q) below: (P) information relating to original data, and information relating to backup data, which is a copy of the original data; (Q) information indicating an organization and/or location to which each storage system belongs.
Abstract:
Poses of a movable camera relative to an environment are obtained by determining point correspondences from a set of initial images and then applying 2-point motion estimation to the point correspondences to determine a set of initial poses of the camera. A point cloud is generated from the set of initial poses and the point correspondences. Then, for each next image, the point correspondences and corresponding poses are determined, while updating the point cloud.
Abstract:
Arrangements reducing power consumption of an air conditioner and a storage device. A control method with a management server apparatus for a plurality of storage devices and an air conditioner includes calculating plural combinations of allocating the work amount to the plurality of storage devices, calculating the heating value of each storage device included in the plurality of storage devices for each of the plural combinations, calculating the quantity of heat conducted to the air conditioner, based on the heating value and positional information of the plurality of storage devices and the air conditioner, calculating the power consumption to cool the quantity of heat conducted to the air conditioner, selecting a combination included in the plural combinations based on the power consumption of the air conditioner, and issuing a move of the data stored in a first storage device to a second storage device, based on the selected combination.
Abstract:
In a storage system in which computers are connected via a network, in order to avoid a state where communication quality is degraded due to poor performance of an apparatus constituting the network, for a transfer data amount, an amount of data sent out from a storage apparatus is suppressed. Moreover, the storage apparatus inhibits a read-ahead process, in accordance with the suppression of the sending out of the data. Furthermore, proper load allocation is realized by migrating a logical storage unit provided by the storage, to another network interface or a second storage apparatus, without changing a configuration of the network.
Abstract:
A wiring board adapted for mounting an electronic component has the form of a structure in which a plurality of wiring layers are stacked one on top of another with an insulating layer interposed therebetween and are interconnected through via holes formed in the insulating layers, respectively. A plurality of openings are formed through the structure in a region where a wiring is not formed, extending through the structure in a thickness direction thereof. Further, solder resist layers are formed on the outermost wiring layers, respectively, and exposing pad portions defined in desired locations in the outermost wiring layers.
Abstract:
A shield device for a resonance type contactless power transmission system that reduces adverse influence on power transmission efficiency without unnecessarily increasing space for installing the shield device is provided. A shield device of the resonance type contactless power transmission system includes cylindrical shield members, which are provided in a power supply unit and a power receiving unit, respectively. The distance between the bottom of the shield member provided in the power supply unit and the primary-side resonance coil and the distance between the bottom of the shield member provided in the power receiving unit and the secondary-side resonance coil are both set to be greater than a distance between the primary-side resonance coil and the secondary-side resonance coil that allows power transmission at the maximum efficiency from the power supply unit to the power receiving unit.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional (3D) location of a reflection point of a ray between a point in a scene (PS) and a center of projection (COP) of a camera of a catadioptric system is determined. The catadioptric system is non-central and includes the camera and a reflector, wherein a surface of the reflector is a quadric surface rotationally symmetric around an axis of symmetry. The 3D location of the reflection point is determined based on a law of reflection, an equation of the reflector, and an equation describing a reflection plane defined by the COP, the PS, and a point of intersection of a normal to the reflector at the reflection point with the axis of symmetry.
Abstract:
A method of balancing a load in a computer system having at least one storage system, and a management computer, each of the storage systems having physical disks and a disk controller, the load balancing method including the steps of: setting at least one of the physical disks as a parity group; providing a storage area of the set parity group as at least one logical volumes to the host computer; calculating a logical volume migration time when a utilization ratio of the parity group becomes equal to or larger than a threshold; and choosing, as a data migration source volume, one of the logical volumes included in the parity group that has the utilization ratio equal to or larger than the threshold, by referring to the calculated logical volume migration time, the data migration source volume being the logical volume from which data migrates.
