The present invention discloses a method, a system, and a device for controlling media play. The method includes: detecting Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) input; and exercising media play control for the detected DTMF input according to mapping information between media play control and the DTMF input. The system includes a controlling device and a processing device. The processing device receives the mapping information between media play control and the DTMF input, and learns which media play control operation maps to the DTMF input of the user according to the mapping information between media play control and the DTMF input after detecting the DTMF key codes input by the user. Therefore, the processing device controls media play independently, without involving control operation performed by the controlling device.
Abstract:
A signal gain control method, a system, a Media Gateway (MG), and a Media Gateway Controller (MGC) are disclosed. The method includes: an MG receives control information from an MGC, where the control information is about adjusting gain of a signal by setting the gain to a specific value directly or by increasing a value of the current gain; and the MG adjusts the gain of the signal according to the control information. Through an extended (media) gateway control protocol, the MGC delivers control information to the MG, thus implementing gain adjustment.
Abstract:
A method, system, network entity for obtaining Session Description Protocol capability information are disclosed. The method, system and network entity are used to solve the problem that a communication party is unable to acquire the Session Description Protocol capability information of the other party with the existing technology. The technical solutions according to the present invention allow a communication party to obtain the Session Description Protocol capability information of the other party from the other party by interacting messages between the two communication parties. Especially, in the case of H. 248 protocol, by extending the corresponding property parameters, a media gateway controller can obtain the Session Description Protocol capability information of the media gateway from the media gateway easily.

A method, system and network entity for negotiating a session description protocol (SDP) version improve a negotiation process where two communication parties negotiate an SDP version supported by both applications. Especially when the H.248 protocol is applied, by extending of a property parameter, the negotiation process between a media gateway controller and a media gateway can be achieved easily. A method, system and network entity for obtaining information of an SDP version allow one communication party to obtain information of an SDP version supported by the other party from the other party. Especially when the H.248 protocol is applied, by extending the property parameter, the media gateway controller may obtain the information of the SDP version supported by the media gateway easily.

A method and apparatus to implement media gateway internal connection. The MGC obtains the MG's capability of supporting an internal connection via audit or configuration. Based on the obtained capability, the MGC determines and controls the implementation of the internal connection, or the MG determines and controls the implementation of the internal connection itself. If the MG determines and controls the implementation of the internal connection itself, the MG informs the MGC to modify the call mode in the MGC into the same as in the MG, or maps between the respective operations for the MGC and the MG to their respective call models after the MG implements the internal connection. The MGC can also control the MG's capability of determining and realizing the internal connection by itself based on the service characteristics.

A method for switching Termination state in an MG includes: exchanging between an MGC and an MG a ServiceChange request for a Termination in the MG, with a parameter used for instructing the Termination to be in a Test state carried in the request; testing by the MG the Termination according to the parameter. A method for switching the state of a Termination in an MG includes: after a test to a Termination is finished, switching the service state of the Termination to an InService or OutOfService state through exchanging a ServiceChange request for the Termination between an MGC and an MG Systems for switching the state of a Termination in an MG are also disclosed. When an MG or MGC tests a Termination, they can notify each other of the service state of the Termination, thereby simplifying the operations of switching the service state of the Termination.

A gateway control agent is disclosed in the present invention, which is set between the media gateway controller and a plurality of media gateways in the packet network. The gateway control agent establishes the mapping relations between the media gateway controller and the media gateways, the media gateway controller uniformly requests for a certain service from the gateway control agent, the gateway control agent then selects the appropriate resource capabilities among the media gateways managed by it and performs mapping between a single media gateway region and the media gateway set region represented by the gateway control agent, and the control operation by the media gateway controller on the resource capabilities in the media gateway set region represented by the gateway control agent is mapped to the resource capabilities of the single media gateway region by the gateway control agent. An implementing method of the gateway control agent is also proposed in the present invention. Therefore, the media gateway controller according to the present invention considers media gateways as a resource set and realizes hierarchical control and simplification operations without the care of the details of a certain MG.

A method for monitoring and reporting events by media gateways, including: presetting events in the media gateways; the media gateways monitoring the preset events and reporting the monitoring result to a media gateway controller during operation. The events may include: off-hook, on-hook, dialing, hook flash, network fault, quality alarm, and timer timeout, etc. By presetting events in the media gateways, the problem of system resulted from the fact that the media gateways can not obtain events issued from the media gateway controller due to various reasons can be avoided through presetting events in the media gateway and then monitoring and reporting the events by the media gateway automatically after the media gateways are started up. Thereby, system stability can be improved.

The present invention discloses a method for controlling the reporting of an event timestamp. The method includes the following steps: a timestamp control parameter is set; the MG determines whether to report the timestamp of the event according to the timestamp control parameter. Further, the present invention discloses an MG and an MGC. The technical solution provided by the present invention controls the MG to report the timestamp of an event; enables the MGC or other applications that require the timestamp of the event to determine the actual time when the event appears according to the obtained timestamp; and controls the reported event not to include the timestamp if the MGC or other applications do not need the timestamp of the event, thus saving the bandwidth resources and other system resources.

A method for instructing a media gateway to set up termination connections is disclosed in embodiments of the present invention. The method comprises: acquiring by a media gateway controller, MGC, information on connection capability, of a media gateway, MG, for various types of terminations; and when a calling connection is required, transmits from the MGC to the MG the connection indication carrying termination connection information that the MG has connection capability, according to the information on the MG's connection capability for various types of terminations. Embodiments of the present invention can ensure that the MG can effectively implement termination connection operation, so as to ensure a smooth progress of a calling connection process and greatly improve quality of service.
