摘要: A method for repairing a bone defect of a patient includes providing a ceramic scaffold configured for filling the bone defect, loading the scaffold with growth factor transduced cells incorporating a gene that encodes a growth factor essential for bone formation, placing the ceramic scaffold with the growth factor transduced cells in or across the bone defect, and stabilizing the ceramic scaffold with the growth factor transduced cells in the patient until the bone defect is healed. An assembly for repairing a bone defect includes a ceramic scaffold configured for spanning the bone defect and a culture of live growth factor transduced cells incorporating a gene that encodes a growth factor essential for bone formation loaded onto the ceramic scaffold.

Each orthodontic bracket may have a configuration that facilitates attaching the orthodontic bracket to a single tooth. Each orthodontic bracket may allow one of the male connectors to be locked into the orthodontic bracket with a snapping action. The male connector may be unable to slide with respect to the orthodontic bracket after being locked in the orthodontic bracket. A manual unlocking action may allow the male connector to disengage from the orthodontic bracket.

The system includes a plurality of elongated beams each connected to a platform segment. The system includes a moving platform configured to attach to a portion of the plurality of elongated beams and elevate the attached elongated beams. The system includes an additive manufacturing device configured to deposit material onto the deposition surface. The system includes an actuator configured to move the moving platform vertically. The system includes a controller configured to cause the additive manufacturing device to deposit the material onto the deposition surface and cause the actuator to move the moving platform upward to cause the elongated beams and their respective connected platform segments to form a support structure for the overhang when the overhang is fabricated by the additive manufacturing device.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus for multi-scale stereolithography. The apparatus includes a light source for providing a laser beam having a first shape and a first size. The apparatus includes a dynamic aperture having multiple apertures that are of the same or different sizes or shapes. The dynamic aperture is configured to receive the laser beam and modify at least one of the shape or the size of the laser beam. The apparatus includes a platform for holding an object to be printed. The apparatus includes a processor connected to at least one of the light source, the dynamic aperture or the platform. The processor is configured to move the platform to direct the laser beam or direct the laser beam to cure resin onto the object to be printed using a first aperture of the multiple apertures to form the object.

The light guide tool includes a transparent non-stick coating. The transparent non-stick coating is adhered over a second end of the optically transmissive ends of the tubular light guide. The light guide tool includes a lens. The lens is coupled to the optical coupling and configured to emit a two-dimensional light pattern.

In various embodiments, each printhead device comprises a coating section, a curing section, a cleaning section, and optionally, a post-curing section. Each printhead device is configured to perform each of these steps, with the multiple printheads engaged in fabricating a multi-material part layer-by-layer.

摘要: A three-dimensional printing approach based on stereolithography with variable printing resolutions to solve the trade-off between throughput and resolution. In this technology, the variable fabrication resolutions are achieved by switching light wavelength. The apparatus includes an optical filter based on high-contrast gratings. In one embodiment, the minimum printing resolution of the accordingly constructed stereolithography apparatus is reduced to 37 μm.
