Abstract:
A thin-film, perpendicular magnetic recording and reproducing head includes a magnetic substrate having a mechanochemically polished principal surface provided with a plurality grooves filled with a nonmagnetic material and a thin-film conductor coil provided on the polished surface of the substrate. A first insulating layer covering the coil, formed from an inorganic oxide and having a thickness of 0.3 to 3.0 .mu.m is provided therethrough with a via hole which extending to a portion of the surface of the magnetic substrate and a first main pole covers the first insulating layer and extends into the via hole to the surface of the magnetic substrate. A second insulating layer formed from an inorganic oxide covers the first main pole and the first insulating layer and has a finely polished surface in which the first main pole has a finely polished exposed surface. A flat second main pole having a small thickness is provided on the polished surfaces of the first main pole and the second insulating layer. A protective overcoat covers the second main pole and the second insulating layer.

Abstract:
A perpendicular magnetic recording/reproducing thin film head of the single pole type formed of a magnetic member provided on its main surface with a grooved portion, and a non-magnetic material filled in the grooves of the grooved portion, thin film conductor coils, an inter-layer insulation film and a main magnetic pole film, wherein at least the thin film conductor coils, the inter-layer insulation film and the main magnetic pole film are laminated on the magnetic member to form a return path. The magnetic member and the main magnetic pole film are connected at the return path and the thin film head has an exposed laminated end face adapted to be opposed to a recording medium and the magnetic member forming a return path appears on the exposed laminated end face and is formed with a portion having the same width as that of the main magnetic pole film and arranged in parallel with the main magnetic pole film and the remaining portions other than the parallel portion are arranged in non-parallel relationship with the main magnetic pole film.
Abstract:
A composite magnetic head is disclosed which is characterized by the fact that a magnetic head slider part and magnetic head core pieces both made of non-magnetic ceramic and provided on each of the opposed surfaces thereof with at least one layer of soft magnetic film produced in the form of sheet and subsequently shaped as required are integrally joined through the medium of glass members interposed between the opposed surfaces so as to give rise to a magnetic gap and an electromagnetic transducer coil is wound on the magnetic head core pieces.A composite magnetic head is further disclosed which is characterized by the fact that a magnetic head slider part and magnetic head core pieces, one made of an oxide magnetic material and the other made of a non-magnetic ceramic, are integrally joined through the medium of glass members interposed between pertinent opposed surfaces so as to give rise to a magnetic gap, the member made of the non-magnetic ceramic is provided on the opposed surface thereof with at least one layer of soft magnetic film produced in the form of sheet and subsequently shaped as required, and an electromagnetic transducer coil is wound on the magnetic head core pieces.
Abstract:
Image data obtained by photographing an object using a camera is stored in a storage medium that can be attached to and detached from the camera. The camera includes a device program storage unit and an information writing unit. A device program that can be executed by an information processing device, which is different to the camera, is stored in the device program storage unit. The information writing unit is constituted to be capable of writing the device program to the storage medium attached to the camera. While writing the device program to the storage medium, the information writing unit writes the device program in a format enabling the information processing device to read and execute the device program automatically when the storage medium is attached to the information processing device.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention prevent data loss due to very frequent writing onto adjacent data tracks. In one embodiment, an alternate zone made up of multiple adjacent data tracks is formed by setting data tracks whose usage is to be prohibited for every other data track. The data updated very frequently and data not updated too frequently are recorded in the alternate zone. Data tracks for recording the data updated very frequently, and data tracks for recording data not updated too frequently, each have one cylinder of spacing. Data loss due to leakage fluxes can thus be prevented.

An information terminal device includes an acquisition unit acquiring language identification information concerning a language used on a display screen, a storage unit storing address information of a server, a language identification information synthesizer synthesizing the language identification information into the address information, and a transmitter transmitting the address information to the server.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention allow a heater to reduce the clearance between a head element section and the magnetic section while reducing the risk of collision between the head element section and the magnetic disk during load/unload. In one embodiment, an HDD judges whether a heater is ON or OFF after the load process is started. If the heater is found set to ON, the HDD sets the heater to OFF. With the heater kept OFF, the HDD starts the actuator pivoting. If the heater is found set to OFF, the HDD moves the actuator from the parking position to the magnetic disk with the heater kept OFF. Upon completion of the load process, the HDD goes to the subsequent process. Since the heater is OFF during load, the risk of collision between the head element section and the magnetic disk is reduced.
