摘要: A forwarding unit such as a DSLAM (8) receives (21) Ethernet packets and forwards information therein on digital subscriber lines (27). For forwarding voice information of received Ethernet packets a reference clock signal is generated by a clock device (28) and provided to modems (23) for the digital subscriber lines. The clock device includes an extraction unit (29) for selecting at least one stream of received Ethernet packets, and a clock signal generating unit, configured as an adaptive clock unit (31), for generating a reference clock signal according to arrival times of packet in selected packet stream or streams. The reference clock signal can be provided to time reference units (25) in the modems. The extraction unit can analyze received Ethernet packets to find streams of packets from one destination to one user, the packets of each of the streams carrying real time information belonging to a real time service and then select one or more streams to be used by the adaptive clock unit.

摘要: A packet forwarding unit such as a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) receives Ethernet packets carrying real-time information and forwards the information therein on output lines such as Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines (ADSLs). The DSLAM includes a clock device having an extraction unit and an adaptive clock. The extraction unit analyzes received packets to select streams of received packets from one destination to one user, and the adaptive clock generates a reference clock signal according to the arrival times of packets in the selected streams. The clock signal is sent to time reference units in DSL modems for the output lines.

摘要: A turn-off power semiconductor component subdivided into unit cells (EZ), including between an anode (A) and a cathode (K) in a semiconductor substrate (1) five layers in p-n-p-n-p sequence, namely an anode layer (10) an n-type base layer (9), a p-type base layer (8), a turn-off region (6), a cathode region (7) adjoining the turn-off region, and a p-doped short-circuit region (5). On the cathode side in every unit cell (EZ), a first MOSFET (M1) which can be driven via a first insulated gate electrode (G1) is provided for the purpose of switching between the five-layer structure and a conventional thyristor four-layer structure. A second MOSFET (M2) having a second gate electrode (G2) prevents a breakdown between the p-type short-circuit region (5) and the turn-off region (6) during turn-off. p-Type short-circuit region (5), turn-off region (6) and cathode region (7) are introduced in a self-aligning manner into the semiconductor substrate (1) through the windows (F1, F2) between the gate electrodes (G 1 and G2, respectively). Current filamentation during turn-off is effectively avoided by the switchable five-layer structure. The self-aligning production makes possible a component having precise patterning.

摘要: The present invention relates to an improved method for preparing an ethylene-silane copolymer comprising hydrolysable silane groups by radical-initiated polymerisation of ethylene and an olefinically unsaturated silane compound, such as vinyl trimethoxysilane (VTMS). Said method is performed in a multi-zone reactor comprising two or more reaction zones, wherein advantageously essentially all of the silane compound is introduced into the first reaction zone to provide a higher conversion of silane monomer into polymer.

摘要: A high voltage AC transmission cable system for transmitting power between two points, each connected to one or more power networks, and a method to operate the system. At least one transformer is arranged at each end of the AC transmission cable, wherein at least one of the transformers is arranged to operate the transformer at a voltage whereby losses due to reactive power transport and dielectric losses are minimized. The AC cable is run at a variable voltage regulated such that the voltage is a function of the load for the transmission cable. This operating voltage is not necessarily the same as the nominal voltages in the connection points. A control and communication system and a graphical user interface for carrying out the method are also provided.
