摘要: Brain-computer interface (“BCI”) systems that provide paralyzed individuals with more meaningful autonomy and independence. Including BCI systems used by an individual that requires less assistance from, or even in the absence of, a care giver, BCI systems that provide an objective and functional measurement of the effectiveness of a motor neuroprostheses in restoring motor outputs.

摘要: Systems, apparatus, and methods for treating medication refractory epilepsy are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of treating epilepsy is disclosed comprising detecting, using a first electrode array coupled to a first endovascular carrier, an electrophysiological signal of a subject. The method further comprises analyzing the electrophysiological signal using a neuromodulation unit electrically coupled to the first electrode array and stimulating an intracorporeal target of the subject using a second electrode array coupled to a second endovascular carrier implanted within a part of a bodily vessel superior to a base of the skull of the subject.

摘要: The present invention involves methods of stimulating tissue using one or more series of electrodes to apply energy through a combination of electrodes to stimulate various regions within an area of interest. Such an approach can triangulate areas where stimulation and/or treatment is needed for deep brain stimulation (DBS). In addition, the triangulation system and methods described herein can be applied to any portion of a body where stimulation of a particular area is required while using the vascular network to access tissue surrounding that particular area so that a combination of electrodes can be used to identify the region of interest that requires stimulation.

摘要: Systems and methods of controlling a device using detected changes in a neural-related signal of a subject are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of controlling a device or software application comprises detecting a first change in a neural-related signal of a subject, detecting a second change in the neural-related signal, and transmitting an input command to the device upon or following the detection of the second change in the neural-related signal. The neural-related signal can be detected using a neural interface implanted within a brain of the subject.
