摘要: Methods and systems for providing electrical power using an isolated DC-DC converter, including the actions of: a) providing current to a primary side of a transformer at multiple predetermined open loop current levels using a power supply, said power supply providing said open loop current levels in increasing amplitude order and at predetermined times, said open loop current levels and times being selected to ramp a voltage across output terminals connected to a secondary side of said transformer so that after said power supply provides a maximum one of said open loop current levels, said voltage reaches a threshold sufficient to enable a closed loop controller connected to said output terminals to send a feedback signal to said primary side, said threshold being insufficient to fully power said output terminals; and b) sending said feedback signal to said primary side using said closed loop controller when said voltage reaches said threshold, said power supply controlled in response to said feedback signal to continue providing current to said primary side at closed loop current levels, said feedback signal selected to control said power supply to increase said closed loop current levels until said output terminals are fully powered.

摘要: In described examples, a converter circuit includes a primary-side ground, a current sensor, a control signal generator, first and second control switches, and a transformer with a center-tapped primary-side coil. A first terminal of the first control switch is coupled to a first terminal of the coil and a first input of the current sensor. A first terminal of the second control switch is coupled to a second terminal of the coil and a second input of the current sensor. Second terminals of the first and second control switches are coupled to ground. The control signal generator closes the first control switch and opens the second control switch in a first phase; opens the first control switch and closes the second control switch in a second phase that alternates with the first phase; and adjusts first phase duration in response to current sensor output, without changing converter period duration.

摘要: An isolated insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) gate driver is provided which integrates circuits, in-module, to support the measurements of threshold voltage, and collector-emitter saturation voltage of IGBTs. The measured gate threshold and collector-emitter saturation voltage can be used as precursors for state of health predictions for IGBTs. During the measurements, IGBTs are biased under specific conditions chosen to quickly elicit collector-emitter saturation and gate threshold information. Integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuits are used to convert measured analog signals to a digital format. The digitalized signals are transferred to a micro controller unit (MCU) for further processing through serial peripheral interface (SPI) circuits.

Repeaters include circuitry to detect the start of Resume signaling or the end of Resume, following initiation of Remote Wake. In an example, pull-up resistors coupled to upstream differential signal lines and a detection circuit with a current source are controlled to detect the start of Resume signaling. In another example, the upstream-side pull-resistors and an enable signal to an upstream-side transmitter are controlled to detect the end of Resume.

摘要: Circuits and systems include a parallel resistor-capacitor (RC) network coupled between a pin and ground, and first and second transistors coupled in source follower configuration with a common gate coupling. The source of the first transistor is coupled to the pin. A first switch couples a drain of the first transistor to the common gate coupling during soft-start (SS) and decouples that connection during over current limit (OCL) sensing, and a second switch couples a drain of the second transistor to the common gate coupling during OCL sensing and decouples that connection during SS. A first current source is enabled deliver a constant current to the pin during SS. A second current source is enabled to generate a reference voltage at the source of the second transistor during OCL, which reference voltage is transferred to the pin by the source follower configuration. A comparator controls the switches to transition from SS to OCL sensing. The comparator output signal is based on a comparison of the voltage at the pin to a threshold voltage.

摘要: In a power supply system, a high-side (HS) insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) has a first collector, a first gate, and a first emitter. A low-side (LS) IGBT has a second collector coupled to the first emitter, a second gate, and a second emitter. A gate drive circuit is coupled to the first gate of the HS IGBT and the second gate of the LS IGBT. A control circuit is coupled to the gate drive circuit. The control circuit is configured to control the gate drive circuit for biasing the HS IGBT to a HS saturation, and determine a HS degradation of the HS IGBT based on a HS digitized gate voltage of the HS IGBT in the HS saturation.
