    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide methods and apparatus for transmitting traffic between a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) apparatus and a communications network. The method comprises receiving traffic from a user device at the CPE apparatus; providing a first link configured to transmit the traffic to the communications network using a first communications technology; providing a second link configured to transmit the traffic to the communications network using a second communications technology; receiving a rule from the communications network at the CPE apparatus for use in transmitting the traffic to the communications network; and selecting to transmit the traffic to the communications network using the first link, the second link or both the first link and the second link, based on the received rule.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed, including in one example a method for scheduling resources, associated with a plurality of components of a communication network, for providing a network service to a user equipment (UE). The method comprises receiving a service request for providing the network service, wherein the service request includes one or more service constraints. The method also comprises, for each of the plurality of network components, determining component resources that are needed to fulfill the service request according to the service constraints, sending, to a manager function associated with the particular component, a resource request that includes identification of the determined component resources and information related to the service constraints, and receiving, from the manager function, service information associated with the particular component. The method also includes, based on the service information and a cost function, determining a resource schedule for the plurality of network components that fulfils the service request.

    Abstract: A method by a network node controls connectivity of UEs by identifying a group of UEs for communication with an application controlling parameters used by the UEs for operation in a vehicle platoon. The method controls connectivity for a UE in the group with a RAN node responsive to characteristics of the other UEs in the group. For each of the UEs the characteristic relates to functional operation of the UE with the application. Another method by an application server identifies the group of UEs, and identifies a characteristic of each of the UEs with the application. A message identifying the group of UEs and their characteristics is communicated to a network node for controlling connectivity for individual UEs in the group with a RAN node responsive to the characteristics of the other UEs in the group.
