Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and arrangements for dynamically configuring repeated transmission of random access response messages from an access node, wherein the random access response message is repeatedly transmitted in response to receipt of a random access request from wireless device operating in a coverage enhancement, CE, mode and wherein the random access response message is configured for repeated transmission on a downlink channel using a repetition level selected from a set of repetition levels associated with a CE level of the CE mode. The repetition level represents a predetermined number of repeated transmissions and the CE level represents a group of wireless devices with similar radio conditions. The method comprises determining, for a predetermined data set, a ratio of successful to initiated random access attempts when applying a selected repetition level of the set of repetition levels for repeated transmission of the random access response messages on the downlink channel, wherein a random access attempt is counted as successful responsive to receipt of a first uplink transmission on a packet uplink shared channel, PUSCH. The method further comprises selecting an operational repetition level of the set of repetition levels for repeated transmission of random access response messages on the downlink channel based on the determined ratio.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for a network node of a cellular communication network adapted for application of an uplink triggered cell handover functionality. The uplink triggered cell handover functionality may comprise initiating a handover when it is determined that an uplink channel performance metric relating to a serving cell falls on a first side of (e.g. is lower than) an uplink handover threshold. The method comprises dynamically restricting application of the uplink triggered cell handover functionality based on whether a restriction criterion is met or not. The restriction criterion is based on at least one of a resource cost of the uplink triggered cell handover functionality and a performance gain of the uplink triggered cell handover functionality. For example, the method may comprise, when the UL triggered cell handover functionality is enabled, disabling the UL triggered cell handover functionality if a disabling criterion is met and, when the UL triggered cell handover functionality is disabled, enabling the UL triggered cell handover functionality if an enabling criterion is met. In some embodiments, restricting application of the uplink triggered cell handover functionality may comprise restricting the application for all wireless communication devices served by the network node. In some embodiments, restricting application of the uplink triggered cell handover functionality may comprise restricting the application for at least one specific wireless communication device served by the network node. Corresponding arrangement, network node and computer program product are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method performed in a network node for identifying UEs which are non-compliant with modified CRS operation. The network node enables CRS operation according to a first configuration for a first period. The network node analyzes Information Elements (IE) in RRC Connection Re-establishment Request messages received from UEs during the first period. The network node generates a first set containing identities of UEs whose values in reestablishmentCause IE in the RRC Connection Re-establishment Request messages received during the first period are “otherFailure”. When the first period is finished, the network node enables CRS operation according a second configuration different from the first configuration for a second period. The network node analyzes IE in RRC Reestablishment Request messages received from UEs during the second period. The network node generates a set containing identities of non-compliant UEs based on the first set and analyzing IE in the RRC Reestablishment Request messages received during the second period.
