    摘要: A drum member has a circular base portion and a cylindrical side portion which is formed with holes at positions facing a brake band wrapping the drum member. A cylindrical member is coaxially disposed within the drum member with its one longitudinal end entirely secured to the inside surface of the circular base portion of the drum member. The cylindrical member is formed with holes or openings and is formed with longitudinally extending spline portions to which clutch plates are splined. The other end of the cylindrical member is entirely in contact with the inner surface of the cylindrical side portion of the drum member so that an enclosed chamber is defined by the drum member and the cylindrical member.

    摘要: A final gear train includes a differential case rotatably mounted within a bell shaped portion of a transmission case between it and a bearing retainer attached to the transmission case by means of two bearings, one bearing being disposed at the bottom of the bell shaped portion, the other bearing disposed around a portion of the bearing retainer to rotatably support a final gear attachment portion of the differential case. The final gear attachment portion is in the form of an axially extending annular portion axially extending from a main body portion of the differential case. This bearing arrangement provides a strong radial rigidity to the final gear attachment portion and prevents deformation of the final gear attachment portion during the transmission of torque.

    摘要: An automotive automatic power transmission system having a torque converter contained in a converter housing and a planetary gear system powered by the torque converter. The planetary gear system is contained in a gear housing detachably secured to the converter housing. The planetary gear system has an output shaft carrying an output gear meshing with an idler gear which is in turn in meshed relationship with a driven gear of a final drive unit. The aforesaid gears are of the helical type and are rotatable about parallel axes, with a resulting axial thrust on the output shaft in a direction towards the planetary gear system during rotation of the output gear in the forward direction. The output shaft is journalled between first and second thrust bearings, with the first thrust bearing being carried on a hollow member detachably fixed to the converter housing and protruding axially therein to support the torque converter stator on a one-way clutch. The second thrust bearing is radially and axially supported exclusively by the converter housing and is provided with a loading capacity greater than that of said first bearing.

    摘要: An output gear of a power transmission is drivably connected through an idler gear to an input gear of a final drive unit having a differential. The idler gear is mounted through a pair of tapered roller bearings on a sleeve shaft which is supported by opposite two walls between which the idler gear is located. An end portion of the sleeve shaft is adjustably received within a recess formed at the inner surface of one of the walls in a manner that a bolt securing the sleeve shaft is screwed into a boss formed in the recess of the wall.

    摘要: Simple passage structure of a lock-up torque converter is disclosed. With this passage structure an output shaft without any circumferential groove can be used. The output shaft has an axial passage and a radial passage communicating with the axial passage. A first spacer is mounted within an annular space between the output shaft and a stationary sleeve to divide the annular space into a first annular chamber and into a second annular chamber. The first annular chamber communicates with the inside of a turbine runner, while the second annular chamber communicates with the radial passage of the output shaft and with a control valve. A second spacer is mounted axially spaced from the first spacer and forms with the first annular spacer the second annular chamber. The second annular chamber and the radial and axial passages of the output shaft provide communication between the control valve and a clutch chamber of a direct drive clutch.
