摘要: A control device comprises an estimated temperature calculation part calculating an estimated temperature of a conductive base based on an engine operating state, an electrical heating permission judgment part judging if to permit warmup of a catalyst device by electrical heating, and a catalyst warmup control part warming up the catalyst device by electrical heating when electrical heating is permitted and warming up the catalyst device by heat of exhaust discharged from the internal combustion engine when electrical heating is prohibited. The electrical heating permission judgment part prohibits warmup of the catalyst device by electrical heating when it is predicted that the actual temperature of the conductive base has diverged from the estimated temperature, when the estimated temperature is low in reliability, or when it is not possible to calculate the estimated temperature.

摘要: A control device for a vehicle is provided with a catalyst warmup control part supplying electric power to a conductive base to warm up a catalyst device if the temperature of the conductive base is less than a predetermined temperature and the state of charge of the battery is less than a second state of charge larger than a first state of charge when the state of charge of the battery is equal to or greater than the predetermined first state of charge and a driving mode of the vehicle is set to an EV mode in which at least the output of the rotary electric machine is controlled to make the vehicle run. The catalyst warmup control part sets the second state of charge so that the second state of charge becomes larger in the case where the resistance value of the conductive base is large compared to when it is small.

摘要: An abnormality detection apparatus calculates an accomplishment ratio parameter based on an actually supplied electrical energy defined as the integrated value of electrical power actually supplied to the electrically heated catalyst over a specific period from the start of supply of electrical power to the electrically heated catalyst to a specific time and a target electrical energy defined as the integrated value of target electrical power over the specific period. The accomplishment ratio parameter is a parameter relating to the ratio of the actually supplied electrical energy to the target electrical energy. The abnormality detection apparatus detects an abnormality of the electrically heated catalyst on the basis of the accomplishment ratio. The specific time is a time after the start of supply of electrical power to the electrically heated catalyst and before or simultaneous with the time when the actually supplied electrical power substantially reaches the target electrical power.

摘要: In an electrically heated catalyst which is arranged in an exhaust passage, electric leakage is suppressed as much as possible. The electrically heated catalyst comprising: a heat generation element; an electrode; a case; an electrode chamber; and an electrically insulating holding member that is inserted between the outer peripheral surface of the heat generation element and the case, and has an abutment joint portion formed by a pair of end faces which connect from an upstream side end portion to a downstream side end portion of the holding member, and which are arranged in opposition to each other, and an opening portion which is constructed so as to form a predetermined space connected with the electrode chamber in the surrounding of the electrode. The abutment joint portion is arranged in a position which excludes the opening portion, and in which it is not exposed to the electrode chamber.

摘要: A controller is applied to an internal combustion engine in which an electrically heated catalyst that is heated when supplied with electric power is installed in an exhaust passage. The controller is configured to perform a preheating process of warming up a first exhaust catalyst by supplying electric power to the electrically heated catalyst through control over a power supply before a start of the internal combustion engine. The controller is configured to, when an insulation resistance of the electrically heated catalyst at a start of the preheating process is lower than a threshold, perform the preheating process while decreasing a voltage supplied to the electrically heated catalyst.

摘要: An exhaust gas purifying device for an internal combustion engine includes: an electrically heated catalyst (EHC) including an insulating member; an insulation resistance detector; and a processor. The processor is configured to: acquire an insulation resistance value of the insulating member using the insulation resistance detector each time a trip of the vehicle starts; and execute diagnostic processing to diagnose the state of the EHC when the acquired insulation resistance value is equal to or less than a reference value. In the diagnostic processing, the processor is configured to determine whether or not there is an insulation abnormality of the EHC, based on an index value indicating the degree of decrease in an insulation resistance value of the insulating member of the current trip with respect to an insulation resistance value of the insulating member of one or more past trips including the last trip.

摘要: A vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine, an electrical heated type catalyst device provided in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine and including a conductive substrate generating heat upon energization and a catalyst heated through the conductive substrate, and a control device, the control device comprising an internal moisture calculating part calculating an amount of internal moisture comprised of an amount of moisture present at an inside of the catalyst device and an engine output control part controlling the output of the internal combustion engine based on a required vehicle output and the amount of internal moisture. The engine output control part is configured so that if moisture is present at the inside of the catalyst device, it restricts the output of the internal combustion engine to a lower output when the internal moisture is large compared to when it is small.

摘要: A vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, an electrically-heated catalyst device provided in an exhaust passage thereof, and an electronic control unit configured to control base material electric power supply supplied to a conductive base material. The catalyst device includes the conductive base material that generates heat upon energization, and a catalyst heated through the conductive base material. The electronic control unit determines whether the conductive base material is in a stagnant period, where temperature of the conductive base material partially stagnates in a prescribed temperature zone, the stagnant period occurring when water is present inside the catalyst device in a process of increase in temperature of the conductive base material. When determining that the conductive base material is in the stagnant period, the electronic control unit controls the base material electric power supply to be lower than when determining otherwise.

摘要: A control apparatus is applied to an internal combustion engine where an EHC and a filter are arranged in this sequence from an upstream side. The control apparatus performs a regeneration process for removing particulate matter deposited in the filter through oxidation, and a recovery process for raising the temperature of exhaust gas to a temperature higher than in the case of the regeneration process and removing the particulate matter deposited at a front end portion of the EHC through oxidation when it is determined that the insulation resistance of the EHC is equal to or lower than a prescribed value. The control apparatus performs the regeneration process and then the recovery process when it is determined that the insulation resistance is equal to or lower than the prescribed value and the deposition amount of the particulate matter in the filter is equal to or larger than a prescribed amount.
