Abstract:
A method of dynamically varying a power of a Reference Signal irradiated by a radio base station of a radio mobile network includes having a network entity monitoring a performance indicator associated with an area. The radio base station provides communication services to User Equipment located in a respective area served by the radio base station. The performance indicator is indicative of a communication channel state within the area. The method also includes either increasing or decreasing the power of the Reference Signal in the area based on a current value of the performance indicator. Either increasing or decreasing the power of the Reference Signal in the area based on a current value of the performance indicator includes modifying a power parameter referred to power of signals transmitted by the radio base station.
Abstract:
A method for exchanging digital content includes (i) determining a position of a connectable device, (i1) causing the connectable device and a first base station to attempt to establish a wireless communication link in a first frequency band therebetween; (iii) if the wireless communication link in the first frequency band has been successfully established, causing the first base station to exchange the digital content with the connectable device through the established wireless communication link in the first frequency band; (iv) prompting a user of the connectable device to change the position of the connectable device, if no wireless communication link in the first frequency band has been successfully established, and (v) after step (iv), performing steps (ii) and (iii).
Abstract:
A cellular network is provided. The cellular network includes a plurality of control plane transceiver stations, each one configured to provide radio coverage over a corresponding first coverage area for allowing user equipment within said first coverage area to exchange signaling traffic with the control plane transceiver station. For each control plane transceiver station, the cellular network further comprises one or more hybrid transceiver stations located within the corresponding first coverage area. Each hybrid transceiver station is configured to be switched between: a) a user operation modality that allows user equipment within said user coverage area to exchange user traffic with the hybrid transceiver station, and b) a control operation modality that provides radio coverage over a corresponding control coverage area for allowing user equipment within said control coverage area to exchange at least signaling traffic with the hybrid transceiver station.
Abstract:
A method for delivering to a user a dedicated service restricted to a predefined service area includes, performing an access request to a dedicated service. The dedicated service is delivered from a server through a data network between a user device and the server. The method also includes determining a service profile associated with the user, and assigning to the user device a dedicated communication channel for the dedicated service. The method further includes starting a communication session with the server through the data network according to the assigned dedicated communication channel, and performing an authentication request to the server. If the service authenticates the user successfully, the position of the user is obtained, and the dedicated service is delivered to the user device.
Abstract:
A cellular network comprising one or more user transceiver stations located within a first coverage area and that are each configured to provide radio coverage over a corresponding second coverage area by exploiting a selected frequency band among a respective set of frequency bands. When a user equipment within one first coverage area of requests to exchange user traffic, the cellular network selects a group of candidate user transceiver stations located within the first coverage area based on the position of the user equipment within the first coverage area; select a group of candidate frequency bands among sets of frequency bands of the user transceiver stations located within said one first coverage area; and allow the user equipment to exchange user traffic with one or more selected user transceiver stations exploiting a selected frequency band.
Abstract:
A method for delivering to a user, through a mobile communication network, a dedicated service restricted to an access-controlled service area includes, upon detection of an access of the user into the access-controlled service area by an access control system, controlling accesses of users to the access-controlled service area, identifying a connectable device associated with the user. The connectable device is connected to the mobile communication network. Then a position of the connectable device is determined. If, based on the position of the connectable device, the connectable device is within the access-controlled service area, the dedicated service is delivered to the user by, providing, through the mobile communication network, one or more digital contents to the connectable device.
Abstract:
A method for managing data traffic of customers and self-driving vehicles includes receiving a transport request by a requesting customer, processing the received transport request and identifying, among the self-driving vehicles, a compliant vehicle compliant with the transport request. The method also includes identifying a compliant route, compliant with the transport request, and causing the compliant vehicle to perform a transport service over the identified compliant route according to said transport request. Identification of a compliant vehicle, identification of a compliant route, and causation of the compliant vehicle to perform a transport service are based on information about the mobile communication network, information about the compliant vehicle, and information about a radio state in the mobile communication network between the customers, between the vehicles, and between the customers and the vehicles.
Abstract:
A method assigning frequency bands on a cellular network including plural network nodes each configured to activate transmission links between pairs of corresponding network nodes to exchange traffic. The method includes, in response to assessment of a new transmission link to be activated between first and second network nodes: retrieving an indication of coordinates of first and second network nodes within a geographical area; retrieving an indication of resource sharing clusters, of the cellular network, each including a group of transmission links considered to potentially cause transmission collisions; selecting a set of the resource sharing clusters according to a comparison of coordinates of the first network node with coordinates of the network nodes corresponding to the transmission links of the resource sharing clusters; if the selected set of resource sharing clusters is not empty, carrying out operations including: activating a new transmission link by exploiting an assigned frequency band.
