    摘要: A Quality of Service (QoS) improvement system and method for transport network fault detection and QoS improvement so that a telecommunication network service provider can analyze the root cause on chronic performance issues and recommend potential solutions is disclosed. The system runs performance analysis on each AAV (mobile backhaul) or other transport networks and collects performance related metrics data. The system then selects a subset of the data related to certain key performance indicators (KPIs), such as latency, jitter, packet loss ratio, and availability. On this subset of KPI-related data, the system applies clustering techniques to identify clusters with similar performance issues. For each cluster, the system binds the AAV performance KPI data with one or more of the following site features—health, location, vendor, market, service type, etc.—to create a cluster map. The system can then generate inferences on root causes of the performance issues.

    摘要: For a cluster of cellular communication sites, the power consumption and data load of each site is measured over multiple time periods to determine an energy factor indicating the degree by which the power consumption of each site increases with increasing data load. The energy factors are then analyzed to determine coverage area sizes for the communications sites that will serve a given area while taking advantage of more efficient site to reduce overall power consumption of the cluster of sites. Transmission power levels are then adjusted at the sites to achieve these coverage area sizes.

    摘要: Methods and computing systems for tunneling in a carrier transport network are described. An Internet Protocol (IP) packet having a destination IP address of a destination cellular site of a cellular cluster is received. A frame is formed with the IP packet placed into a payload portion of the frame. An outer Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) tag that identifies a network of the cellular cluster to a first carrier network is added to the frame, and an inner VLAN tag that identifies the network of the cellular cluster to a second carrier is added. The first carrier network and the second carrier network are coupled via at least one network-to-network interface. The frame, including the IP packet, is forwarded to a provider edge switch of the first carrier network.

    摘要: A mobile carrier may selectively offload backhaul data traffic between cell sites and the core network to existing alternative relay networks to increase available backhaul bandwidth to meet higher data traffic demands without adding additional network ‘infrastructure. Data traffic may be offloaded from a cellular network to the alternative relay network based on at least one of a bandwidth capacity of the alternative relay network, a bandwidth availability of the alternative relay network, or a data class of the data. The amount of data that is offloaded to the alternative relay network may then be adjusted based on a blocking probability that is calculated for the alternative relay network.

Techniques and architecture described herein allow performance measuring and monitoring of the wireless communication network and developing a prediction model for predicting causes of faults within the wireless communication network. Such techniques allow for gathering of key performance indicator (KPI) performance measurements between points within the wireless communication network. The performance measurements can include evaluating nodes, links, subnetworks, etc., within the wireless communication network. Based upon the performance measurements and historical data, a prediction model can be developed that can be used to predict a likely possible cause of a future fault within the wireless communication network.
