    摘要: A pneumatic gross leak detector for testing micro-electronic packages. Thepparatus includes a frame having a vertically movable upper section and a stationary lower section. A chamber is provided with walls which are secured to the upper section for movement therewith. The chamber includes upper, lower and intermediate portions disposed in communication. A test chamber base is secured to the lower stationary section to receive the microelectronic package therein. A first piston is provided in the upper chamber portion for moving the upper frame section downwardly for sealing engagement for the lower chamber portion with the test chamber base. A second piston is provided for compressing air in the lower chamber portion to a predetermined value. A readout device communicates into the test chamber to indicate if compressed air in the lower chamber leaks into the micro-electronic package.

    摘要: A uniquely designed acoustic transducer comprising a stack of piezoceramic elements (other piezoelectric materials may be used) mounted upon a tuned, shaped transmit/receive head made of hardened metal alloy. The ceramic stack is preloaded to the head via a stress bolt. Insulator electrodes used in the ceramic stack are selected to minimize compliance in the stack for maximum efficiency. All the material properties, sizes, weights, etc., as well as the overall transducer design are carefully selected to act in combination to match the impedance of the load (i.e. metal structural framework). The diameter of the tip of the tuned, shaped driving head is sized such that when clamped to a metal framework, the base metal of the material just under the tip is compressed to or slightly beyond its yield point. This eliminates the requirement for surface preparation because any coatings will be displaced under the applied pressure and any surface irregularities will be flattened out. The underside of the clamping member used to hold the transducer assembly in place consists of a half wave length reflecting waveguide designed to reflect any absorbed energy back into the load. Thus, the attachment points for both the reflector and the transducer head of the clamping device effectively appear invisible to the driving transducer under load.

    摘要: A slider assembly for flying a magnetic head at very low clearances on a fluid film over a moving recording medium. This improved slider assembly provides stability and uniformity of flying height and increased damping characteristics when the slider assembly is subjected to dynamic forces. The slider assembly has, in most embodiments, a pair of rails each having a tapered forward end to provide a converging inlet to achieve the fluid film. Most of the static load is carried by the flat surface of the rails rearward from that tapered forward end. Each rail of the slider assembly has at least one longitudinal transverse pressurization contour (TPC) along corresponding edges of the rails to provide this stability of flying height. When only one TPC per rail is used, the particular edge chosen for the TPC depends upon the disk size and skew angle distribution over the recording zone. The TPC's can be of step construction, a linear taper or a convex configuration. For each, the "average" angle as determined by the height and width of the TPC is about 0.05 to about 5 degrees.

The compositions cure on exposure to UV radiation and may be used to produce on a variety of substrates coatings which are of reduced odor. Also, disclosed and claimed is a method of treating a substrate which comprises applying a coating of such compositions and irradiating the coating. Examples given refer to production of coatings on paper substrates to provide cured coatings.
