    摘要: The system supports a virtual carrier mode of operation in which downlink communications are made by a base station using a radio interface that spans a system frequency bandwidth while a terminal device is configured to receive at least some communications from the base station within a restricted subset of transmission resources selected from within the system frequency bandwidth. The system supports terminal devices in both a radio resource control connected mode and a radio resource control idle mode. When there is to be a change in system information the base station transmits to the terminal device an indication that updated system information is to be broadcast by the base station and this indication is received by the terminal device while in the connected mode. Before seeking to acquire the updated system information, the terminal device transitions from the connected mode to the idle mode.

    摘要: A communications device for use in a mobile communications network, the mobile communications network comprising one or more other infrastructure equipment, the infrastructure equipment and other infrastructure equipment each providing wireless connectivity within at least one cell, wherein the communications device includes transmitter circuitry configured to transmit signals to the infrastructure equipment, receiver circuitry configured to receive signals from the infrastructure equipment, and controller circuitry configured to control the transmitter circuitry and the receiver circuitry. The controller circuitry controls the transmitter circuitry and the receiver circuitry to communicate wirelessly with at least a first of the infrastructure equipment including by the use of a radio bearer, to receive a reconfiguration message from the first infrastructure equipment to effect re-establishment of its radio link control protocol layer, and subsequently to re-establish its radio link control protocol layer in response to the reconfiguration message.

    摘要: A wireless telecommunications system in which downlink communications are made using a radio interface that spans a system frequency bandwidth (host carrier) and supports at least some communications from a base station to least some terminal devices within a plurality of restricted frequency bands (virtual carriers) which are narrower than and within the system frequency bandwidth. A terminal device conveys an indication of its identity, e.g. an IMSI, to the base station during an initial connection procedure as the terminal device seeks to access the radio interface. The terminal device and the base station both determine a selected restricted frequency band from among the plurality of restricted frequency bands based on the identity of the terminal device in the same way. Thus the terminal device and the base station select the same restricted frequency band and can accordingly configure their respective transceivers to allow for downlink communications between them within the selected restricted frequency band.

    摘要: A communications device includes a transmitter configured to transmit signals to one or more other communications devices via a wireless access interface, the one or more communications devices configured to perform device-to-device communications. A receiver is configured to receive signals from the one of the other communications devices via the wireless access interface, and a controller controls the transmitter and receiver to transmit or to receive the signals via the wireless access interface to transmit or to receive data represented by the signals. The wireless access interface provides a scheduling region including plural predetermined sections of communications resources, and plural sections of shared communications resources. Transmission of a scheduling assignment message in a section of the scheduling region informs other devices of a group that a communications device will transmit signals representing data in a corresponding section of the shared communications channel.
