    摘要: A downhole tool is disclosed for measuring wellbore geometry. The downhole tool may include a body with a bore extending at least partially therethrough. The body may include a radial recess. An arm may be movably coupled to the body at a first end portion of the arm. The arm may be within the radial recess in a retracted position and be pivotable in a radially-outward direction relative to the body to an expanded position. A measurement device coupled to the body may measure the pivoting motion of the arm. A piston coupled to the body may be movably coupled to a second end portion of the arm, and the piston may respond to changes in hydraulic pressure to pivot the arm between the retracted position and the expanded position.

    摘要: A downhole tool assembly is configured for repeated and selective hydraulic actuation and deactuation. A piston assembly is configured to reciprocate axially in a downhole tool body. The piston assembly reciprocates between a first axial position and second and third axial positions that axially oppose the first position. The downhole tool is actuated when the piston assembly is in the third axial position and deactuated when the piston assembly is in either of the first or second axial positions. A spring member biases the piston assembly towards the first axial position while drilling fluid pressure in the tool body urges the piston assembly towards the second and third axial positions. Downhole tool actuation and deactuation may be controlled from the surface, for example, via cycling the drilling fluid flow rate.

    摘要: A method of drilling a wellbore with a downhole tool having a cam piston, and a rotary piston includes providing a first flow of fluid to the downhole tool. The first flow of fluid causes the cam piston to move axially downward, thereby rotating a rotary valve of the rotary piston, which in turn places the downhole tool in a compressed position to activate a secondary tool. Next the formation may be drilled with the downhole tool in a compressed position. A second flow of fluid may be provided to the downhole tool to move the cam piston axially downward thereby rotating the rotary valve and deactivating the secondary tool.

In one implementation, the vibration tool may include a housing having a bore extending therethrough. The vibration tool may also include a piston subassembly positioned inside the bore, where the piston subassembly is configured to oscillate when fluid flow inside the piston subassembly exceeds a predetermined flow rate. The vibration tool may further include a valve mechanism positioned around the piston subassembly, where the valve mechanism is configured to restrict fluid to flow inside the piston subassembly when the valve mechanism is in a closed state and configured to allow the fluid to flow from the piston subassembly to the bore when the valve mechanism is in an open state.
