Abstract:
An original receipt is created for a document on a server. The receipt is copied from the server to a print job agent. The print job agent requests a page of the document from the server. The server provides the requested page to the print job agent then updates the original receipt to indicate the requested page has been provided to the print job agent. The print job agent communicates the requested page to an output device. The output device prints the page. When the output device has finished printing the page, the output device confirms to the print job agent that the page has been successfully printed. Once the print job agent receives confirmation from the output device that the page has been printed, the print job agent updates the copy of the receipt to indicate that the page has been printed.
Abstract:
An amount of print substance in a printing device as well as an amount of print substance that should be in the printing device are identified. A difference between these amounts is determined and the difference compared to a threshold value. A determination that print substance has been removed from the printing device is made if the difference exceeds the threshold amount.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for monitoring and controlling printing services for a printer using an Internet server. The method includes the step of sending a print job from a client computing device to the printer via the Internet server. The print job can be intercepted as the print job is received by the Internet server. Another step is identifying the client computing device sending the print job using the Internet server. A billing mechanism can be determined at the Internet server for the client computing device sending the print job. A further step is transmitting the print job from the Internet server to the printer to be printed.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for enhancing the input fidelity of personal digital assistants (PDAs), and other handheld stylus-engagable computing devices are described. In some embodiments, this can be done by associating input commands with different user-input activities, including different combinations of user-input activities. By using different combinations of user-input activities to designate particular input commands, a more robust collection of commands can be provided to a user in a manner that is simple, straight-forward and easy to understand.
Abstract:
An imaging system includes an authorization logic that authenticates a imaging request. The system determines whether the imaging request includes a code that matches an access code that is displayed by an imaging device in the system. If there is a match, the imaging request is processed.
Abstract:
An imaging device such as, for example, a printer, scanner, or copier is provided that includes a processor circuit having a processor and a memory and a number of physical components that perform at least one imaging function, the physical components being controllably coupled to the processor circuit. The memory includes an allocated portion of memory to accommodate the storage of a control system to be installed therein. A control system installer is stored in the memory and is executable by the processor. The control system installer includes logic that downloads the control system from a remote device via a network, and, logic that installs the control system in the allocated portion of the memory.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and devices for associating meta-data to a received job are provided. One method includes detecting the job request at an agent on a source device. The method further includes identifying the source device and a type of the job request. Meta-data is associated with the job request at the agent on the source device based on an identity of the source device and the type of the job request.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, computer-readable medium, graphical user interfaces, print drivers, and other embodiments associated with processing print requests is provided. In one example system, the system comprises a print delay logic configured to delay processing of print requests until a selected print request is claimed. An input device can be configured to receive a claim request from a user desiring to claim one or more print requests, the claim request including charge account information. An identification logic can be configured to identify one or more print requests for which the user is an owner based, at least in part, on the claim request, and can be configured to cause the identified one or more print requests to be processed. A payment logic can be configured to charge an account using the charge account information from the claim request.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and methods for accessing a printing service. In one embodiment, a system and a method pertain to attempting to print to the printing service via an internal network address, and if the attempted printing fails, attempting to print to the printing service via an external network address.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and methods for generating customized banner pages. In one embodiment, a system and a method pertain to creating a banner page document on a word processing application such that the document includes at least one token that is indicative of dynamic information to be added to a printed banner page and that is recognizable by a printing service manager that manages a public printing service, printing the banner page document to file to create a print ready banner page file, and uploading the print ready banner page file to the printing service manager for the purpose of transforming the print ready banner page file by replacing the at least one token with at least one print ready variable that can be used to merge dynamic information with the print ready banner page file at print time.
