Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel including a sensor unit configured to detect a touch operation; a first control unit configured to supply a first signal to the display panel; and a second control unit configured to calculate touch information related to the touch operation and to supply the touch information to the first control unit. The first control unit includes: a signal generator configured to generate the first signal based on an image signal supplied from an external image signal supply source; and an overdrive circuit configured to perform a process of increasing an amplitude of the first signal generated by the signal generator. The overdrive circuit is actuated based on the touch information from the second control unit. The first control unit, in response to the actuation of the overdrive circuit, supplies the first signal having the amplitude increased by the overdrive circuit to the display panel.

Abstract: A display device includes a touch panel, a panel control unit, and a storage unit configured to store an image signal. The panel control unit provides control to perform a touch detection operation and a write operation in an alternating manner in an image input period and to perform at least the touch detection operation at regular intervals in a suspension period. When an image input period starts, the panel control unit provides control to perform the write operation after an ongoing or subsequent touch detection operation finishes.

Abstract: An in-cell touch panel includes a mode switching control circuit and a counter substrate electrode control circuit. The mode switching control circuit switches, in a time-division manner, the operation mode of the in-cell touch panel between a display mode in which a display signal is supplied by a display control circuit to pixel electrodes, and a touch detection mode in which a driving signal is supplied by a driving control circuit to touch sensor electrodes. The counter substrate electrode control circuit supplies a counter substrate electrode with a signal that is in synchronization with the driving signal and that has the same polarity as that of the driving signal in a period while the in-cell touch panel is in the touch detection mode, or causes the potential of the counter substrate electrode to be in a floating state in a period while the in-cell touch panel is in the touch detection mode.
