Abstract: An in-cell touch panel includes a mode switching control circuit and a counter substrate electrode control circuit. The mode switching control circuit switches, in a time-division manner, the operation mode of the in-cell touch panel between a display mode in which a display signal is supplied by a display control circuit to pixel electrodes, and a touch detection mode in which a driving signal is supplied by a driving control circuit to touch sensor electrodes. The counter substrate electrode control circuit supplies a counter substrate electrode with a signal that is in synchronization with the driving signal and that has the same polarity as that of the driving signal in a period while the in-cell touch panel is in the touch detection mode, or causes the potential of the counter substrate electrode to be in a floating state in a period while the in-cell touch panel is in the touch detection mode.

Abstract: A touch panel system includes a capacitive touch panel and a controller that controls the touch panel. The touch panel includes drive electrodes and floating island electrodes located on a first substrate and position detection electrodes, pressure detection electrodes, and heat detection electrodes located on a second substrate. The drive electrode overlaps at least part of the heat detection electrode and at least part of the pressure detection electrode, and the floating island electrode overlaps at least part of the position detection electrode in plan view. The controller provides a drive signal to the drive electrodes and the heat detection electrodes and corrects a pressure detection signal obtained from each of the pressure detection electrodes by using a heat detection signal obtained from a change in a coupling capacitance between the pressure detection electrode and the heat detection electrode.

Abstract: A touch panel system includes a touch panel, a cover member overlapping the touch panel, and a controller. The controller includes a position detection unit configured to detect a position of a pointer, based on a signal value obtained from a position detection electrode, an amplification processing unit configured to perform amplification processing on at least one signal value in a pressing force detection range corresponding to the position of the pointer detected by the position detection unit among signal values obtained from a pressing force detection electrode, and a pressing force detection unit configured to calculate magnitude of a pressing force generated by the pointer, based on a signal value after the amplification processing being a signal value in the pressing force detection range including a signal value obtained by amplification by the amplification processing unit.

Abstract: A touch panel include a cover member, a drive electrode, a pressure detecting electrode, and a position detecting electrode. The pressure detecting electrode and the position detecting electrode are alternately arranged in a first direction. The pressure detecting electrode includes a plurality of pressure detecting sections, arranged side by side in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, that each independently detect a pressure. The position detecting electrode includes a plurality of position detecting sections, arranged side by side in the second direction, that each independently detect a touched position. The area of a pressure detecting section is larger than the area of a position detecting section.
