    Abstract: A base station configured to perform a method for self-interference cancelation (SIC) is provided. The method includes transmitting, by a transceiver configured to transmit an uplink channel and a downlink channel concurrently, one or more signals, the transceiver coupled to, or including, a first number of transmit antennas and a second number of receive antennas. The method also includes, for at least one receive antenna of the second number of receive antennas, applying a forward path model including a non-linear component corresponding to a transmit path in the transceiver, and applying an equalizer function to a first signal to be transmitted by at least one transmit antenna of the first number of transmit antennas determine a self-interference (SI) estimate; and subtracting, in SIC circuitry, the SI estimate from the signal received via at least one receive antenna of the second number of receive antennas to obtain an residual signal.

    Abstract: A method includes transmitting, by a transceiver configured to concurrently transmit over multiple transmit paths and receive over multiple receive paths, one or more signals, the transceiver comprising multiple transmit antennas and multiple receive antennas. The method also includes, for at least one of the multiple receive antennas: applying a transmit path model to one or more transmitted signals to generate one or more transmit path estimates, the transmit path model determined based on multiple analog power amplifiers associated with the multiple transmit paths; calculating one or more estimated self-interference (SI) signals based on the one or more transmit path estimates using an equalizer array comprising a predetermined channel model; and subtracting the one or more estimated SI signals from one or more receive signals received at the at least one receive antenna to obtain one or more residual signals.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes a substrate, a first antenna panel, a second antenna panel, and an antenna isolator. The first antenna panel is coupled on the substrate and includes an array of first antenna elements. The second antenna panel is coupled on the substrate and includes an array of second antenna elements. The antenna isolator is coupled on the substrate and including a plurality of walls extending outwardly from the substrate along a length of the substrate between the first antenna panel and the second antenna panel. The antenna isolator reduces reduce wave propagation between the array of first antenna elements and the array of second antenna elements.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for self-interference cancellation in a communication device. The communication device includes an antenna configured to transmit a transmit signal and receive a receive signal through a duplexer in FDD communications, a first analog to digital converter (ADC) configured to convert the receive signal from analog to digital, a coupler configured to couple a sample of the transmit signal to a second ADC, which is configured to convert the sample of the transmit signal from analog to digital, and self-interference cancellation circuitry configured to process the digital sample of the transmit signal to generate a self-interference cancellation signal and apply the self-interference cancellation signal to the digital receive signal to cancel an amount of interference induced in the receive signal by the transmit signal. The SIC process provides additional isolation between TX signal and RX signal. The additional isolation could be utilized to relief the isolation requirement for the duplexer, reducing the cost and form factor of the duplexer.

    Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) unit and a method for RF isolation. The RF unit includes first and second RF couplers, an RF filter, and an RF canceler connected in parallel with the RF filter. The first RF coupler is configured to receive an input signal. The RF filter is configured to receive a first portion of the input signal from the first RF coupler and attenuate frequencies outside of a passband of the RF filter from the first portion of the input signal. The RF canceler is configured to receive a second portion of the input signal from the first RF coupler and generate a cancellation signal from the second portion of the input signal based on a target frequency band of the RF canceler. The second RF coupler is configured to combine the cancellation signal with an output of the RF filter to generate an output signal.
