    Abstract: The present disclosure includes an electronic device and a method thereof. The electronic device includes a display, an ambient light sensor, and at least one processor, operatively connected to the display and the ambient light sensor. The at least one processor is configured to detect, by using the ambient light sensor, ambient light of the electronic device during a first duration in a state in which the display is turned off, identify a setting for being used for the ambient light sensor, based at least in part on a characteristic of the ambient light, detect, by using the ambient light sensor, ambient light of the electronic device during a second duration based at least in part on the identified setting, and control a function of the display, based at least in part on the characteristic of the ambient light detected during the second duration.

    Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) device according to an embodiment may include: a communication module comprising communication circuitry, a camera, a display, a wear detection sensor, a memory, and a processor. The memory according to an embodiment may include instructions which, when executed by the processor cause the AR device to receive, through the communication module, marker configuration information related to a display form and a display method of a watch face AR marker and configured in an electronic device. The memory according to an embodiment may include instructions which, when executed by the processor cause the AR device to detect, through the wear detection sensor, that the AR device is worn on a user's body and activate the camera. The memory according to an embodiment may include instructions which, when executed by the processor cause the AR device to identify a watch face AR marker and a strap pointing marker included in a camera video, based on the marker configuration information configured in the electronic device. The memory according to an embodiment may include instructions which, when executed by the processor cause the AR device to determine at least one of a location, a posture, and a tilt of the electronic device, based on the identified watch face AR marker and the identified strap pointing marker. The memory according to an embodiment may include instructions which, when executed by the processor cause the AR device to output AR information corresponding to the posture or tilt, based on the location of the electronic device.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing including a front surface and a rear surface; a display provided in the housing and exposed through the front surface of the housing; an illuminance sensor provided below a sensor area in an active area of the display, the active area being an area of the display in which visual information is to be displayed; and a processor connected to the display and the illuminance sensor, wherein the processor is configured to: determine an illuminance value based on data received from the illuminance sensor; obtain color information of an image displayed in the active area; determine a first color value of the active area and a second color value of the sensor area based on the color information; adjust the illuminance value based on the first color value and the second color value; and configure a luminance of the display based on the adjusted illuminance value.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to a device and method of controlling an optical sensor module in an electronic device. The electronic device includes: a housing: a display disposed in an internal space of the housing to be at least partly visible from outside through the housing and including a plurality of signal lines; an optical sensor module disposed in the internal space below the display and overlapping the display, and including a first light emitting element overlapping a first signal line of the display, a second light emitting element overlapping a second signal line different from the first signal line of the display, and a light receiving element configured to collect light from the first light emitting element and/or the second light emitting element that is reflected and received from an external object; and a processor operatively connected to the display and the optical sensor module. The processor is configured to control the first light emitting element based on an off-time point of time of the first signal line corresponding to brightness of the display such that the first light emitting element emits light at a first light-emitting point of time, and to control the second light emitting element based on a time difference between off-time points of time of the first signal line and the second signal line such that the second light emitting element emits light at a second light-emitting point of time different from the first light-emitting point of time.
