An electronic device includes a housing, an antenna structure disposed in an inner space of the housing, a wireless communication circuit disposed in the inner space, and a first bracket. The antenna structure includes a substrate having a first substrate surface facing in a first direction and a second substrate surface facing in a second direction opposite to the first substrate surface, and a plurality of chip antennas sequentially arranged on the first substrate surface in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each of the plurality of chip antennas includes an antenna element and is separated in the third direction from remaining chip antennas by separation spaces. The first bracket includes first and second protrusions that protrude in the second direction to correspond to the first substrate surface of the substrate. The protrusions are aligned, in the third direction, with the separation spaces.

An electronic device includes a connector for connecting to an external device; a battery; and a controller operatively coupled to the connector and the battery. The controller includes a power controller configured to: supply the external device with a first signal having a first voltage level in response to detecting that the external device is connected to the connector. The external device is supplied with a second signal having a second voltage level that differs from the first voltage level, in response to detecting that the external device is connected to an external power supply. The first signal is generated at least in part by the battery.

According to various embodiments of the disclosure, an electronic device may include: a printed circuit board; a connector disposed on one surface of the printed circuit board and including a first contact portion and a second contact portion spaced apart from the first contact portion; and a flexible printed circuit board at least a part of which is connected to the connector. The flexible printed circuit board may include: two first areas formed on one surface of the flexible printed circuit board and each having a length in a width direction from one side or the other side of the one surface; and a second area formed between the first areas. Each of the first area and the second area may include a plurality of first terminals in contact with the first contact portion and disposed at intervals in the width direction of the flexible printed circuit board; and a plurality of second terminals in contact with the second contact portion and spaced apart from the plurality of first terminals in a longitudinal direction of the flexible printed circuit board. In the first area, one end of the plurality of first terminals may be formed at a same position in the longitudinal direction of the flexible printed circuit board, and the plurality of second terminals are spaced apart from the plurality of first terminals by a first length, respectively. In the second area, at least some of the plurality of first terminals may be spaced apart from at least some of the plurality of second terminals by a second length, respectively. The first length may be greater than the second length.

A method and apparatus for performing calculations in a character input mode of an electronic device. Character input is received in the character input mode, and input characters are displayed in a character input window. If determined that an arithmetic expression is present in the displayed input characters, the arithmetic expression is evaluated, and an evaluation result is displayed. A calculation enabling condition may be satisfied prior to, or after, the arithmetic expression identification. The method may be applied to character input modes of a text messaging or email application, or of a word processing application.

The electronic device includes a processor operatively connected to a connector, a power supply circuit, a discharge circuit, a first switch, and a second switch, and configured to detect a connection of an external electronic device through the connector in a state in which the discharge circuit is activated, perform first discharge of discharging a current of the connected external electronic device using the discharge circuit for a designated time based on the connection of the external electronic device, control the first switch to cut off the electrical connection between the discharge circuit and the ground after performing the first discharge, control the second switch to electrically connect the connector and power supply circuit to supply designated power to the external electronic device through the connector, and perform communication with the external electronic device based on a communication connection with the external electronic device.

The electronic device includes a touch screen, at least one fingerprint sensor disposed on the touch screen, and a processor implementing the method, including controlling the touch screen to display one or more graphic objects, detecting attribute information of at least one graphic object associated with a fingerprint sensor disposed on at least a part of the touch screen from among the one or more graphic objects, activating an area of the fingerprint sensor based on the attribute information, the activated area of the fingerprint sensor corresponding to the at least one graphic object, and acquiring fingerprint information through the activated area of the fingerprint sensor.
